Key Responsibilities

  • Business Strategy & Growth Leadership: Formulate and drive the Bank’s overall business strategy, focusing on sustainable growth across Corporate, SME, Retail, Digital Banking, Cards, and Liability Mobilization.
  • Portfolio Expansion & Revenue Maximization: Lead initiatives to grow asset and liability portfolios, increase non-funded income, and ensure business profitability across all segments.
  • Oversight of Business Divisions: Provide strategic guidance and supervision to the heads of Corporate Banking, SME, Retail, Cards, Agent Banking, and Digital Channels to ensure seamless execution of business targets.
  • Credit & Risk Alignment: Work closely with Credit, CRM, ERM, and Risk Divisions to ensure that business growth remains aligned with credit quality, risk appetite, capital adequacy, and regulatory standards.
  • Corporate Relationship Management: Strengthen relationships with high-value corporate clients, industry bodies, regulators, and development partners to drive large-ticket business opportunities.
  • Product Innovation & Market Positioning: Identify new market segments, develop innovative banking products, refine pricing strategies, and introduce competitive business solutions aligned with emerging customer needs.
  • Deposit Mobilization & Liquidity Support: Lead liability growth strategies, enhance CASA base, and expand deposit channels through branch network, digital banking, agent banking, and institutional relationships.
  • Business Analytics & Performance Monitoring: Oversee MIS, dashboards, segmentation analysis, and business intelligence to ensure data-driven decision-making and performance optimization.
  • Expansion of SME & Retail Franchise: Strengthen SME lending, retail products (home loans, auto loans, personal finance), and nationwide distribution channels to drive broader market penetration.
  • Digital & Alternative Channels: Spearhead business transformation initiatives through fintech partnerships, digital onboarding, API banking, merchant acquisition, and card business expansion.
  • Branch Business Governance: Provide strategic oversight of branch business performance, ensuring target achievement, productivity enhancement, cost control, and customer experience excellence.
  • Regulatory Compliance & Governance: Ensure full adherence to Bangladesh Bank regulations, internal policies, credit guidelines, and risk governance frameworks related to business conduct.
  • People Leadership & Capability Building: Mentor senior business leaders, develop managerial talent, build a high-performance culture, and promote accountability, innovation, and ethical business practices.
  • Strategic Collaboration with Senior Management: Work closely with MD & CEO, DMDs, CCO, COERM, and other key executives to align business strategy with technology, operations, credit, and risk frameworks.
  • Market Intelligence & Competitive Analysis: Continuously monitor market trends, competitor strategies, macroeconomic indicators, and industry developments to guide strategic decisions and reposition business priorities.

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 25 years of progressive banking experience, including at least 5 years in senior leadership roles in a reputed bank.
  • Proven track record in managing large business portfolios, achieving revenue targets, and driving business transformation.
  • Strong understanding of Corporate, SME, Retail, Liability Management, Cards, and Digital Banking.
  • Experience in leading large teams and managing a multi-segment business ecosystem.
  • Sound knowledge of Bangladesh Bank regulations, credit policies, risk management practices, and business governance requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to innovate business models, diversify portfolios, and build market competitiveness.

Educational Qualifications

  • Postgraduate/Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Management, or related disciplines from a reputed public or UGC-approved private university.
  • Professional certifications in banking, credit, risk, leadership, or strategy will be considered added advantages.
  • No 3rd Division/Class in any academic record is acceptable.
