About you
You will have an advanced university degree in public health, nutrition, international development, management, or a related field with a minimum of 15 years of progressively responsible experience in international development, with at least 10 years in senior leadership roles.

You will come with demonstrated experience in program management, strategic planning, financial management, human resources, fundraising & resource mobilization and external representation. Strong experience working with government and leading large, complex, multi-sectoral programs in challenging operating environments

Fluency & knowledge of English and Bangla is required.

About the role
The Country Director provides overall vision, leadership, and direction for Nutrition International’s (NI) work in Bangladesh. S/he is responsible for the effective management of all aspects of NI’s country operations including strategic planning, program development and implementation, financial and human resource management, stakeholder relations, representation, fundraising, and ensuring alignment with NI’s global priorities. The CD represents NI with the government, donors, partners, and other stakeholders, and leads the country office to achieve impact, influence, and growth in line with NI’s mission to improve nutrition, particularly for women, girls, and children. S/he will also serve as a key representative of NI in-country, building and maintaining strategic alliances and partnerships that contribute to global nutrition goals. The In this role you will:

  • Serve as the primary representative of NI to donors, UN agencies, diplomatic missions, and international NGOs in Bangladesh, ensuring NI’s role as a thought leader and trusted partner in nutrition and development.
  • Lead the delivery of NI’s Country Strategy so that NI staff are living the organisation’s values and achieving the vision, mission and objectives of, as well as supporting NI’s global strategy Demonstrate clearly a personal drive for nutrition, health and gender rights throughout all work and ensure they lead by example in representing the organisational values.
  • Engage in policy advocacy both directly and/or in partnership with others so as to influence Government policies and investments in nutrition by government, partners and donors.
  • Identify opportunities to mobilize or/and leverage additional resources to expand the work of NI
  • Ensure that there is a robust internal control environment, including sound policies and procedures that safeguard staff and the assets of the organisation and partners, and that improve the effectiveness and the efficiency of the organisation
  • Oversee the overall safety and security of NI staff within the Bangladesh office; including ensuring that appropriate security management systems are in place and that staff are appropriately trained and updated on security issues
