Know our team/ Background:
In Bangladesh the REACTS-IN project will leverage Nutrition International’s already established relationships with the national and subnational governments of Bangladesh to identify the country’s contextual determinants of anemia across the lifecycle and provide tailored multisectoral actions and interventions to accelerate anemia reduction, especially among the most marginalized and in hard-to-reach areas. NI will collaborate with relevant stakeholders to design a methodology, gather high-quality, context-specific data, and conduct health impact and economic analyses. This process will inform the development of a costed anemia action plan, accompanied by a comprehensive monitoring and evaluation framework.
About you
You should have a Master’s degree from a recognized university in one of the following areas- nutrition, public health, international development and/or a related field. You will also come with around 10 years of work experience of NGOs, UN agencies or similar working on public health, reproductive health, food security and/or nutrition related programs with at least 5 years of experience working in Bangladesh or elsewhere in a project management or senior technical role.
Fluency in Hindi and Bengali/ Bangla is a prerequisite.
About the role
This two-year long position provides overall leadership for NI’s contributions to REACTS-IN in Bangladesh, with a primary focus on supporting the development of a costed anemia action plan (CAAP) and ensuring the timely and high-quality implementation of NI activities in the country. The project will be implemented in partnership with local government, health facilities and communities to achieve its outcomes. Leadership responsibilities include day-to-day planning, implementing, and tracking of progress against project deliverables, to ensure targets are met through the efficient and effective management of resources. With the support and guidance of the Technical Advisor – Anemia, other relevant members of NI’s technical team and NPO/NPM of AWHN and the Deputy Country Director (DCD), in this role you will be responsible to:
- Facilitate the articulation of project scope, goals and deliverables and ensure they are understood by project staff, the consultant and stakeholders.
- Oversee and work closely with government stakeholders and project partners to develop a detailed project implementation plan and annual workplans that clearly define the strategies, activities and resources (time, money and equipment etc.) required for effective implementation of the project; and update workplans regularly to ensure the timely completion of activities and achievement of the deliverables
- Work closely with implementing partners to ensure a monitoring plan is developed and followed and the information contributes to NI’s outputs and the project outcomes.
- Manage NI consultant contracts in a timely manner and according to local legislation and NI policies.
- Develop quarterly cash flow projections and monitor actuals and review variance analysis on a monthly basis to ensure the project operates within its budget parameters.
- Build and strengthen relationships with multisectoral key project stakeholders and implementing partners to ensure that the project is harmonized with other donor-funded projects/programs and facilitates government leadership and ownership.
