Know our team:

Nutrition International’s Operations unit is a dedicated team of program implementation experts who are responsible for contributing to the overall management of NI’s field operations in Asia and Africa. This position will report to Country Director, Bangladesh, and will be responsible for effectively managing all aspects of the implementation and development of the program and support functions to facilitate the implementation of Nutrition International’s (NI) (former Micronutrient Initiative) strategic objectives and country strategy in Bangladesh.

About you:

You have a Master’s degree in Nutrition, Public Health, Medicine, Health System Management, Social Sciences, International Development and/or a related field and a minimum of 10 years of work experience with NGOs, and/or UN agencies working with public health, and/or nutrition-related programs. You are an excellent communicator with strong leadership qualities and are able to collaborate across units and geographies successfully.

You are a public health professional and nutrition expert with extensive experience in managing complex projects and program or have held such roles in the past and have experience in working with maternal and child health and nutrition programs in Bangladesh.

About the role

In this role you will:

  • Supports the Country Director in the development of Country Strategies and budgets.
  • Generate innovative ideas that inform new ways of doing NI business to reach greater impact as well as encourage program staff to do the same.
  • Lead project teams and manage program implementation including managing timelines, budgets, and deliverables for all interventions.
  • Landscape analysis reports and project concept notes as well as annual work plans and ensure that they meet NI’s minimum standards
  • Identify knowledge and skill gap in project management for program staff and ensure they receive on-the-job training and mentoring.
  • Support the Country/Regional Technical (Research and Evaluation) Advisor in the organization and implementation of in-country research, evaluations, and dissemination exercises.
  • Maintain good working relationships with, and knowledge of the work of, other actors involved in maternal and child health and nutrition
