Know our team

Nutrition International (NI)’s Asia Region Corporate Services Unit comprises a team of experts that work closely with the Country Offices in the region and HQ in Ottawa. The primary mandate for the Corporate Services Unit is to provide leadership and support in corporate and program finance management, budget management, donor reporting, procurement, and office administration functions. The Finance Manager Bangladesh will work closely with the Country Director, Bangladesh, and the regional corporate team to deliver on its mandate on all finance aspects at the country level.

About you

You are someone who has sound technical and professional knowledge of finance and accounting and a high level of technical skills. You have an excellent ability to interpret and apply policy and procedures to accommodate new or unusual situations and can multitask and prioritize effectively. You are well organized, flexible and enjoy the challenges and rewards of working in a diverse office environment.

You will have a Master’s degree in Business Administration, Financial Management or other related field from a recognized university with 8 years of progressive financial management experience is required in an international NGO in program/grant management. Experience working with contracts and grants management database. Skills in financial management and administration. Prior staff supervisory experience and strong organizational skills are desired. Attention to detail, competent IT skills, ability to work under pressure with an analytical and methodical approach. Knowledge of Great Plains will be an added advantage.

Fluent in written and spoken English.

About the role

In this role you will be:

  • Ensure the production of accurate and timely financial information for the country office, including reviewing financial transactions, journal entries, account reconciliations, financial analysis, and reports before they are submitted to the Regional Office.
  • Review the local set of accounts prepared by the accounting service provider.
  • Provide effective support to country staff in understanding and implementing NI financial and administrative policies and procedures, including effective and regular use of the contracts database.
  • Ensure the accuracy of Bangladesh projects and contracts information entered in the Contracts Database and that all related milestones are kept up to date at all times by Program Officers.
  • Coordinate annual statutory and internal audits, including preparation of financial statements, reports and supporting documentation as required.
  • Ensure effective management of cash flow.
  • Ensure effective management of staff salaries, including calculations and timely payment, in line with national labour law, tax and social payments.
  • Support contracting and procurement of various services, goods as may be required
