Opportunity for Individual Consultancy

The Organization:

NGO Forum launched its journey in 1982 as the brainchild of the United Nations Steering Committee of the International Drinking Water Supply and Sanitation Decade (IDWSSD). NGO Forum has been evolved as the apex networking and service delivery body of its partner NGOs, CBOs and private sector operators in the WaSH sector of Bangladesh. Upholding its vision ‘Everyone is living quality life in a healthy society’, NGO Forum, over the years, has been contributing to the improvement of Public Health situation for about 42 million poor and disadvantaged people by reducing mortality and morbidity, and conserving sound environment through implementing about 250 projects, successfully with funding from different development partners including World Bank, DANIDA, EU, SDC, Oxfam, Unicef, UNHCR, IOM, HELVETAS, AAR Japan etc. At present, NGO Forum intends to create a resource pool comprising with consultants from various disciplines to get technical support in meeting multidimensional requirements of development partners.

Objective of creating the resource pool:

NGO Forum intends to create a Resource Pool comprising with individual consultant having expertise in relevant area to get necessary technical support in developing project proposals, EoI, Project Documents, Research Proposal, Concept Notes, Technical Study and other supports. It is expected that the consultants in this resource pool will provide necessary need-based supports to the organization in accomplishing the above activities and in turn they will be provided honorarium/consultancy fees through mutual negotiation.        

Areas of expertise of the individual consultant:

The prospective individual consultant should have expertise in the following areas:

  • Environment and environmental conservation
  • Adaptation to climate change
  • Disaster Risk Reduction
  • Child and vulnerable adult protection
  • Gender equality and equity
  •  Food security and Nutrition
  • Hydrogeology
  • Emergency Health/Occupational health
  • Livelihood development 
  • Conservation and rehabilitation of natural resources
  • Waste management
  • Ecosystem and bio-diversity
  • Deforestation and forest degradation
  • Natural resource management
  • Alternative sources of energy
  • Alternative energy sources for cooking  
  • Trade and technical skill development
  • Immigration and protection

Academic Qualifications and experiences:
The prospective consultant should have at least a Master degree in the relevant area. PhD in the above disciplines would be given preference. The consultant should have 10 -15 years of working experiences in the similar field s/he intends to apply.  

Other requirements:

  • The prospective resource person should have adequate expertise on developing project proposals, EoI, Project Documents, Research Proposals, Concept Notes and other reports.
  • Ability to lead large scale (national level) research or other projects
  • Having strong linkage with GO, NGOs and development partners

Job nature: Part-time (as and when needed)

Remunerations: Negotiable
