GRANTS SPECIALIST (1 POSITION)

The National Center for State Courts is inviting applications from qualified candidates with a proven commitment to the rule of law and access to justice for the position of Grants Specialist under the “Justice for All” Program in Bangladesh funded by USAID. The “Justice for All” Program is a five-year program that seeks to improve the delivery of legal aid services, increase judicial self-governance, and increase citizen awareness of legal rights and responsibilities.

Position Summary
The position reports to the Grants Manager. The position is Dhaka-based with frequent travel within Bangladesh. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist in managing and monitoring dynamic sub-grants portfolio working with non-governmental organizations and professional associations in Dhaka and in target districts throughout Bangladesh to facilitate legal aid services and legal awareness.
  • Participate in the evaluation and selection of partner NGO applications.
  • Assist in delivering inception training and specialized capacity building for program sub-grantees.
  • Assist in facilitating best practice and continuous learning exchanges among program sub-grantees.
  • Ensure that technical and financial reports are submitted on time and are accurate.
  • Maintain grants-related electronic and hard copy files.

Qualifications

  • University degree in financial or grants management, accounting, or related field.
  • At least three years as Grants/Sub-Grants Assistant or at least one year as Grants/Sub-Grants Specialist/Officer or similar position working on development assistance projects in Bangladesh.
  • Knowledge of and experience working under USAID regulations on grants and subcontract management and compliance requirements (FAR and ADS) preferred.
  • Understanding of grant-making processes and procedures from inception to close-out
  • Strong organizational skills, rigorous attention to detail, and problem solving abilities needed to perform effectively in a demanding position.
  • Ability to work under pressure with a variety of stakeholders and participate in training delivery.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ethics, transparency, and accountability in program implementation.
  • Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, Bangla composing skills, etc.).
  • Excellent spoken and written English and Bangla.
