Muslim Aid UK Bangladesh Country Office (MABCO)

Muslim Aid (MA) was first established in 1985, in response to the 1983–85 famine in Ethiopia, by 23 organisations based in Britain. MA is a faith-based British international charity that has been providing assistance to the people in need. Muslim Aid has been working in Bangladesh as a development and humanitarian organisation since 1991 through humanitarian response to Tropical Cyclone 02B affected population. Muslim Aid Bangladesh Country Office (MABCO) started relief and rehabilitation work in response to the disastrous situation caused by the super cyclone that hit Bangladesh’s coastal areas in April 1991. However, MABCO has changed its role and programme interventions over the years according to the needs and priorities of the community. Currently, MABCO is working in four thematic areas including Humanitarian, Livelihood, Education, and Health and has implemented 15 different projects successfully changing millions of lives with the support and guidance from MAHQ and the People's Republic of Bangladesh.
