Main Job Description:
The Counselor for the OST Center at Satkhira will be mainly responsible for providing counseling sessions to the clients. He/she is also being responsible for collecting behavioral and psychological data as designed by OST& TCS services and to be maintained all relevant documents related to his/her assignments. Counselor will be made field visit, home visit of OST & ART clients as per need and direction of the intervention. He/she will be directly reported to Medical Officer will be closely work with other team members of the Satkhira OST Center.
However, the specific roles and responsibilities of Counselor described in the followings:
- Maintain proper discretion and confidentiality to build trust with OST clients, their family and peers.
- Provide counselling on drug adherence, psycho-social issues and HIV risk reduction behavior to the OST clients.
- Assess feasibility of enrolment clients according to the study criteria;
- Collect behavioral & psychological data on a regular basis according to the prescribed format;
- Initiate and explore psychiatric support for the eligible OST clients, consultation with Medical Officer
- Record keeping and maintain all kind of forms/registers, reports, files, guideline and other documents related to his/her jurisdiction. e.g. counseling, psychosocial support, behavioral data collection etc.
- Assist to prepare monthly, quarterly and other periodical report as per guideline and requirement of the OST;
- Maintain close liaison with other relevant stakeholders;
- Provide counseling to PWID on positive living and enroll positive PWID on ART
- Provide counseling for maintain ART adherence
- Provide counseling for HIV-Hep C coinfection management
- Extended necessary support to other team members as and when needed and or instructed by his/her supervisor and /or organization.
Educational Qualification and Experience:
- Honours or Master degree on Psychology, Sociology or other relevant subjects.
- 2 years’ experience in counselling or psychotherapy; experience in working with most at risk population, preferably with drug users;
- Training in the field of counselling and drug treatment will be an advantage.
- Ability to interact professionally with a diverse population. Ability to exercise flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities. Team working, interpersonal and relationship building skills.
Salary: Monthly BDT 29,441/= and other benefit: like yearly 01 (one) bonus equal to 01-month salary and monthly mobile bill |
