Project Summary:

USAID’s Obirodh: Road to Tolerance Program will provide support to activities aimed at fostering an inclusive and tolerant Bangladesh. Obirodh is a three-year program for the period August 2017 to August 2020. “Obirodh” is Bengali term for harmony and peace. One of the primary aims of the Obirodh program is to commission research, build local capacity, and work with Bangladeshi actors to implement grant-based preventive interventions that reduce the threat of violent extremism (VE) in Bangladesh.

Position Summary:

MSI is pleased to announce a short-term Internship opportunity under the USAID/Bangladesh Obirodh Program. This position will allow young professionals to work on international donor-driven project and to support our teams in Dhaka office.

Number of position: 3 – one for National and one for Dhaka Grants & Operations Team and one for CVE Capacity & Networking
Work-week: 5 days, Sunday through Thursday
Duration: 6 months

Responsibilities:

MSI is looking for dynamic, intellectually curious, and energetic Interns, who will be responsible for the following tasks:

• Support program development and implementation.
• Assist M&E team to collect, review, and enter data.
• Assist with meetings organizing and event preparation.
• Attend relevant internal and external program meetings.
• Assist with translation and interpretation (English to Bangla; Bangla to English) written and oral.
• Assist in preparation of event reports, meeting minutes and any other routine reports
• Assist with administrative and clerical tasks. • Field visits if necessary

Qualifications:

• Interns should be completing a Bachelors or Masters in international affairs, business administration, geography, statistics, public administration, or a similar field.
• Six months to one year past experience in a similar assignment, is preferable but not required.
• Interns should demonstrate a strong academic record and fluency in written and oral English.
