Marie Stopes Bangladesh is soliciting an experienced consultant/organization for the development of a Success Story book for “Nirapod-2: Empowering Women on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights and Choice of Safe Menstrual Regulation (MR) and Family Planning (FP)” project.

Unintended pregnancy is one of the significant contributors to maternal death and disability globally. Bangladesh is one of nine countries that have reduced maternal mortality significantly: from 320 to 170 per 100,000 live births (UNICEF- December 2013). Thus far too many women and girls still die from complications associated with unintended pregnancy in Bangladesh and many suffer throughout their lives because they are not able to exercise their sexual and reproductive health rights (SRHR) including accessing safe menstrual regulation (MR), comprehensive family planning and other SRHR information and services.

In response to the contexts and challenges outlined above and to accelerate progress towards achievement of MDGs 3, 4 and 5, Marie Stopes along with, Association for Prevention of Septic Abortion, Bangladesh (BAPSA), and Shushilan have started implementing a project titled as Nirapod-2: Empowering Women on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights and Choice of Safe Menstrual Regulation (MR) and Family Planning (FP) in 40 selected upzailas of Patuakhali, Barguna, Laxmipur, Noakhali, Khulna and Narail where 21 upazilas are old and 19 upazilas are new; and in 48 Garment Factories in Dhaka, Gazipur and Narayanganj among which 28 are old and 20 are new. The project is funded by The Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands (EKN).

As the project is now going to be close out by June 2020, MSB now intends to  develop a bilingual (Both in Bengali and English) success story book to capture and document the significant stories/changes/successes of the project for effective SRH knowledge dissemination and management. The book will also be used for showcasing the successes of SRH Basket Product Business Model, Safe MR, FP, Violence Against Women (VAW), Child Marriage, Women Entrepreneurship as well as demonstrating the learnings achieved by Nirapod-2 project.
