Qualification and other requirements:
Diploma in Civil Engineering with 4/5 working experience on WATSAN Basic Understanding on Union & Upazila Parisod and their role. Good understanding in Bangla and Basic English Language and has mobilization/facilitation capacity.
Job Summary :
This is one of the senior level technical position of the JTI WaSH project. The Construction Engineer is reportable to the Project Coordinator and develop a very close relationship with the Technical Officer, Training Officer, Community Mobilizer and Accounts Officer along with the Community People and others institutions etc. S/he is responsible to supervise of all the field activities, share findings and provide necessary feedback, guidance to the Project Staff and draw attention to Project Coordinator to ensure more effective and qualitative works in the field.
The major responsibilities of the Construction Engineer is to ensure close monitoring, effective and successful implementation of the small infrastructure for water and sanitation, Menstrual Hygiene Management points of the project area. S/he regularly visits field, coaching and provide technical support to the field staff for smooth operation of small infrastructure to the water and sanitation activities . This position holds the overall responsibility to ensure technical feasibility in selecting water points, latrine installation/renovation in institutions to make appropriate and demand driven to the Community as well as LGIs. Accordingly s/he is the right person to develop infrastructures and installation.

- Identifying the vulnerable institutions for installation/ renovation water sources and latrine installation/ renovation through participatory and planning exercises with authority to ensure it’s necessity to the institutions.
- Finding out the reputed vendors who are able to work maintaining the guidelines of the project and the originations to finish the work contract timely and appropriately.
- Initiate the infrastructures for the water pints and sanitation ensure appropriate and intensive monitoring to oversee the progress of activities in the fields to make the infrastructure/complex qualitative..

2. Supply all required quantity of materials to the institutions with reasonable market price. |
- Provide necessary orientation and technical support to mason and pay regular follow up to target peoples to ensure the proper using of materials.

3. Liaison and
Networking |
- Maintain proper communication with Stakeholders and WASH committee members.
- Organize meeting, training, and visits of counterpart officials to project areas as required.
- Conduct field visit and identify the constraints and make appropriate actions towards achieving the project goal.

4. Establish a reporting and documentation system for all technical interventions of the project. |
- Develop necessary reporting and relevant data collection tools for all technical interventions capturing learning.
- Orient the field staff regarding the tools
- Ensure to collect data, prepare reports
- Share the report with Project Coordinator and forward it to concern people and preserve document for future reviewing.

Salary range: 35,000/- to 37,000/- with others benefits
