Job Summary

The Case Worker will be responsible for providing psychosocial support and basic case management support to survivors of gender-based violence through individual counseling, follow up support, referrals and dissemination of information on available GBV services to encourage access to services. The Case Worker is required to adhere to international standards of GBV case management. The case worker will work in collaboration with midwives to support an integrated SRH and GBV model.

Case Worker Duties and Responsibilities

  • The GBV Case Worker will be responsible to provide the day-to-day Management of all GBV cases including developing case plans and follow up
  • GBV Case Worker will liaise directly with service providers working within target areas and facilitate referrals to other service providers (including mental health, SRH, shelter, NFIs and /or legal providers, etc.)
  • Ensure that Survivor Centered Approach Guiding principles maintained and enforced while working with survivors
  • File and store GBV data in the gender-based violence information management system (GBV IMS) in compliance with the information sharing protocol developed at the inter-agency level
  • Contribute to the identification of at risk women and adolescent girls to ensure proper documentation
  • Provide direct support and care for vulnerable women adolescent and girls (including survivors of gender-based violence) including basic information counselling and case management such as assessment of survivor needs, developing an action plan, implementing the pan, follow up and case closure processes in line with the GBV case management standard operating procedure and IASC guidelines on case management
  • Ensure the principle of Do No Harm is observed and upheld in all the engagements
  • Maintain positive coordination and relationship with other partners in the field to promote holistic approach to case management
  • Liaise with relevant stakeholders to address gaps in GBV response services and referral protocols
  • Contribute in the collection of information needed for M&E activities and progress towards indicators.

Case Worker Requirements and Qualification

  • Masters/Bachelor Degree in social science or related field.
  •  Minimum of two years’ experience working with vulnerable communities, social service experience, and/or advocacy programs. 
  • Experience in GBV/protection interventions
  • Experience of working with UN or Non‐Governmental organizations or local governmental authorities. 
  • Good communication skills and ability to conduct training and awareness 
  • Computer skills
  • Good organizational and management skills

Job Location: Project Office, Kurigram

Reportable to: Case Manager

Salary: 25,000/-
