Manusher Jonno Foundation (MJF) invites applications from Bangladeshi national for Program Coordinator (Youth & Social Cohesion) position under “Excluded People’s Rights” Project based in Dhaka. The length of this contract will be up to December 2023.

Program Coordinator – Youth & Social Cohesion, 1 position

As a senior member of the organisation the Programme Coordinator is responsible for providing technical support, information and advice to make decisions related to Rights and Governance programme. The Programme Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the successful implementation of the Youth and Social Cohesion programme. S/he has to be in constant touch with  partner organisations under this theme and be responsible for monitoring, maintaining liaison and strengthening networking among partner organisations, administering national advocacy on youth, actively seek interesting concepts and proposals to help develop prospective ideas into proposals etc. S/he will provide technical support and strengthen understanding of governance & rights issues in Bangladesh support Research in the field of Youth and Social Cohesion. S/he will lead the Youth and Social Cohesion programme team to identify gaps in the above field and deliver the programmatic and organizational goal.

The Program Coordinator is expected to maintain a good knowledge and conceptual understanding of the sector globally and be fully informed of all significant developments and best practices in the sector in Bangladesh and give technical input to the partner organisations to replicate the best practice. S/he must be able to establish and maintain contacts will key actors as well as make use of available sources for gathering and distributing key information. S/he will be also responsible to lead the advocacy process with the programme team.

Required Qualification and experience:

  • Masters in Social Science or any other relevant discipline.
  • Demonstrable fluency in written and spoken English and Bangla.
  • Experience of team management in multi donor funded organisational structures.
  • Understanding, experiences, knowledge of Resource Mobilization, Partnership Development and Management.
  • Specific knowledge on Social Cohesion focused Programme including Preventing Violent Extremism, Life skill Education, Leadership Promotion and Youth Employment Generation.
  • Experience of managing development programme for at least 12 years including planning, approval of expenditure and budget management, report writing, M&E. Experience of starting up a new programme will be an added advantage.
  • Strategic Leadership skill for team management and exposure of MJF profile.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage priorities and respect deadlines.
  • Adaptable, innovative, problem-solver and a quick learner.
  • Good understanding of Political, Cultural and Social issues, Education systems, Sports and Culture, gender, community mobilization, networking with government, NGOs and donors.
  • Ability to manage process effectively, and to work under pressure and maintain strict deadlines.
  • IT knowledge and skills including operating campaign through social media.
  • Experience in training/workshop facilitation.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skill and ability to work independently but also as part of a team.
  • Holding a pluralistic and inclusive values and attitude to promote social harmony.
