Assistant Manager, Site Acquisition (for Head Office, Dhaka with frequent visits in different parts of Bangladesh)

S/he will be responsible for building and leading the site selection activity, overall site development and site selection efforts for new stores. This position will work closely with acquisition negotiations and agreement process and will also oversee the external network of commercial real estate brokers and agencies. The incumbent will report to the General Manager, Operation. S/he will be responsible for:

  • Understanding of expansion strategy for Supermarket/retail store.
  • Analysis of business growth potential within selective area by surveying of community, traffic, density, business establishment, living standard etc.
  • Be on the move to look for site strategically and in well planned manner.
  • Work closely with Operations and Finance department to finalize a site/location and negotiate rent, advance and other terms with Land owners based on the business feasibility suggestions.
  • Assess overall area potential and establish site selection criteria.
  • Primary responsibility for site selection negotiations in coordination with legal department for letters of intent, rental agreements, other compliances etc. Coordinate with Legal and Engineering Department in management of due diligence and entitlements.
  • Play an active role in negotiations of rent, advances and other terms in favor of the organization.
  • Work in coordination with the Project Department and Operations, in both selection of building/location and site layout design.
  • Play an active part in settlement and mitigation of issues and conflict with land owners, real estate regarding sites.
  • Conduct periodic area evaluation and site selection visits to identify newly growing areas and promising business locations.
  • Present potential new sites to senior management.
  • Present weekly/monthly development and status report of Site Acquisition department to senior management.
  • Establish site presentation standards.
  • Oversee and manage Real Estate Letter requests and built rapport and close contact with real estate for future commercial projects.


  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in any discipline from a recognized University.
  • 4-5 years relevant job experience. .
  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills with people of diverse background.
  • Excellent analytical, decision making, planning and presentation skills.
  • Self-driven and innovative attitude.
  • Computer literacy in MS Office & Outlook.
