Position : Team Leader


Position: Team Leader (01 position, based at Lepra Bangladesh Dhaka Office). The duration of the proposed contract is up to 2 years.

The Team Leader is responsible for providing overall strategic leadership and management supports for effective planning and quality implementation of the project as per agreed strategies and program plan.  S/he is also responsible for planning and implementing all assignments as indicated in the TOR, coordination and technical guidance to the design and implementation of project activities for achieving expected results.  S/he will participate in the country management meeting and provide updates on plans and progress, and achievement of indicators.  The Team Leader will also play a significant networking and advocacy related role. S/he will be responsible for liaising with consortium members and for the execution and management of contracts for consortium members and staff.  S/he will be responsible for compliance of donor contract requirements and donor reporting.  The Team Leader will ensure that the project team is motivated and capable of achieving the desired results. Team Leader will ensure quality harm reduction services to the impact populations. S/he will also work closely with the Country Management team to ensure quality, accurate information management and documentation for timely reporting and share with PR, and other relevant stakeholders as required. S/he will facilitate effective partnership, coordination and collaboration with GoB and other organizations to bring synergy. Work in close coordination and collaboration across the wider Lepra  Bangladesh programs/projects to bring synergy, enable learning, and maximize country program cohesion and effectiveness.   

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordination and oversight of health program management specially leprosy & LF.
  • Staff Management and team building.
  • Effective manages NGO partners (SSRs) and ensure supports for high quality programming.
  • Program Development, Monitoring, managing evidences, learning  & knowledge and reporting.
  • Advocacy and Representation.

Required Qualifications:

  • 10 + years of experience of which 5/6 years  leading large-scale public health project teams, with experience in mapping of NTDs/other infectious disease and experience of working with the Gov
  • Working experience on disability field
  • Experience on MMDP (Morbidity Management & Disability Prevention) services
  • Experience to run project on Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs)
  • Have special skill and experience on MMDP services and referral mechanism
  • Basic knowledge on the Lymphatic Filariasis disease and the strategy to reduce the burden of the disease
  • Experience on handling a large team for implement the project effectively and efficiently
  • Proven skill of monitoring and evaluation of the project
  • Master in Social science/Master in Public Health from recognized university.
  • Proven experience in leading project team with diverse skills and competencies.
  • Demonstrated strong people management skills.
  • Experience in donor liaison, reporting and representation.
  • Strong financial planning and management skills, including experience of managing multi-year grants and knowledge of donor compliance requirements.
  • Demonstrated understanding of monitoring and evaluation.
  • Experience in enabling knowledge management and learning within a program or organization.
  • Experience of developing technical partnerships at national and local level.
  • Experience of project design desirable.
  • Experience of resource mobilization desirable.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Should have good understanding of MS Office applications.
