Position: Liaison Officer

Salary: Starting 35,000 Taka (salary is negotiable for highly experienced candidate)

Other benefits: Yearly increment, 2 festival bonuses, conveyance, phone bill, etc. as per HR policy.

Job context:

LEDARS is a nonprofit organization registered with the NGO Affairs Bureau, actively working in the southwest coastal region of Bangladesh since 1998. This region is highly vulnerable to climate change, and its communities face numerous challenges. In response, LEDARS implements various projects focused on climate change, climate justice, environmental conservation, gender equality, youth development, and more. To enhance communication, collaboration, and coordination among stakeholders, LEDARS is seeking to hire a Liaison Officer for its core team. This mid-level position will be responsible for maintaining effective connections with NGOs, INGOs, government authorities, business entities, and other stakeholders in Dhaka, Khulna, and other cities.

Major Responsibilities:  

  • Represent LEDARS at meetings, conferences, and external events in Dhaka and other cities.
  • Facilitate effective communication and coordination among stakeholders at national and international levels.
  • Maintain strong relationships with development partners and donors.
  • Support LEDARS' advocacy team in organizing national-level events, such as seminars, workshops, and press conferences.
  • Develop relationships with like-minded NGOs, CSOs, and other stakeholders, forming alliances to strengthen LEDARS' advocacy initiatives.
  • Build and manage a media network, regularly engaging with journalists and editors across print, electronic, and digital media.
  • Draft Expressions of Interest (EoI), Terms of Reference (ToR), Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs), and agreements as required.
  • Ensure seamless communication between field offices and programs through both online and offline channels.

Educational Requirements: Minimum Bachelor Degree in English / Sociology / Development Studies / Mass Communication and Journalism with a reputed university.

Experience: Have at least 2 years of working experience in Mid-level position of a reputed NGO.

Additional Requirements:   

  • Experience in climate change, advocacy, gender, environmental conservation, WASH, and Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) projects.
  • Proven track record of success in a similar role.
  • Expertise in participatory program planning, management, monitoring, evaluation, and the use of PRA tools.
  • Proficiency in computer operations, including MS Office and internet browsing.
  • Strong writing and speaking skills in English.
  • Candidates with experience in content writing, including articles, news, blogs, and press releases, as well as managing social media, will be given priority.
