Required Qualifications and Experiences |
- Required Education: B.Sc. in Electrical and Electronics engineering.
- 05-07 years of relevant experience.
- Good knowledge of electrical system, preventive maintenance, planned maintenance & troubleshooting techniques of electrical equipment used in a modern dry process cement plant.
- Good knowledge of protection system for motors, generators, transformers & other equipment.
- Good analytical & reasoning ability to understand drawings & technical documents

Key Role:
Responsible for implementation of maintenance schedules for preventive and shutdown maintenance, repair & upkeep of spares, trouble shooting & upkeep of electrical equipment of the plant.
1 – MISSION
Main purpose:
- Zero down time on account of Electrical Maintenance.
- Implementation of Preventive Maintenance and shut down maintenance schedules for electrical equipment of the section assigned & ensure their reliability & availability.
- Troubleshooting, condition monitoring & upkeep of electrical equipment of the assigned section.
Contribution:
- Responsible for implementation of preventive and shut down maintenance schedules for all the electrical equipment of section assigned.
- Responsible for troubleshooting, condition monitoring up keep of all the electrical equipment of the assigned section.
- Responsible for installation & commissioning of new equipment as per requirement.

2 - PERFORMANCE CRITERIA
a) Major results and/or performance levels expected:
Quantitative:
- Number of breakdowns/ downtime on account of Electrical.
- Equipment availability & reliability.
- Number of repetitive breakdowns & improvement steps taken to minimise the same.
Qualitative:
- Reliability of electrical equipment.
- Department housekeeping: To ensure that electrical equipment are maintained in show room condition.
- Adherence to safety rules and regulations
- To ensure proper upkeep of documents, logs etc.
Main Responsibilities
Technical / Functional skills:
- Responsible for implementation of preventive and shut maintenance schedule & repair of all electrical equipment of plant section assigned and shall be responsible the following:
- Preventive Maintenance and shut down maintenance and condition monitoring of all the electrical equipment as per defined schedules & procedures.
- Troubleshooting of all the equipment.
- Breakdown maintenance & repair/replacement/rectification jobs.
- Workshop work: Rewinding /repair, testing & inspection of the spare motors, transformers and other electrical equipment.
- To maintain good inter departmental relations and team up with other departmental colleagues for jobs involving joint action & co-ordination.
- Reporting to department head/ manager on jobs done/problems faced and breakdowns.
- Ensure proper upkeep of departmental manuals, documents, log sheets etc.
- Ensure proper use of P.P.E by subordinates & self & abide by safety procedures.
- Responsible for training & honing the skills of subordinates.
- Responsible for executing improvement/ modification jobs as per requirement.
- To carry out any additional work assigned by the management.
- Knowledge of Electrical equipment used in a dry process plant.
- Knowledge of maintenance, preventive maintenance, & troubleshooting of electrical equipment used in cement plant- different types of motors, breakers (SF-6, VCB,VCP etc.), transformers, protection relays, contactors, MCCBs, MPCBs, RTD for winding and bearings etc.
- Knowledge of repair, rewinding and testing of motors, transformers and other electrical equipment.
- Ability to study & understand power & control circuit diagrams, cable schedules, termination drawings & other documents.
- Ability to select breakers, contactors, and protective relays MCCB’s and other electrical equipment for particular application.
- Plan for spares for the assigned section for preventive and shut down maintenance.
