The Export-Import Bank of Korea (Korea Eximbank) is a Government Agency of Korea Government’s Economic Development Cooperation Fund (EDCF), a South Korean Official Development Assistance (ODA) since 1987. EDCF provides financial and technical assistant to partner countries to invest in development projects with the overarching aim of socio-economic growth and promoting shared prosperity of developing countries.

After years of history that international staffs were deployed to serve its mandate as a country-level facilitator on EDCF’s operations in Bangladesh and advisory & support unit to ensure effective project processing and delivery, Dhaka Representative Office of Korea Eximbank was officially established on 24 April 2018 to take an expanded role in bilateral development and economic cooperation efforts throughout EDCF program.

Against this backdrop, Korea Eximbank Dhaka Representative Office is seeking applications from suitable candidates for the position of “Coordination and Administrative Officer”. Detailed information is as below:

 
Job Title: Coordination and Administrative Officer

Contract Period: 1 Jan 2022 to 31 Dec 2022 (One (1) Year, with a possibility to extend further based on the performance)

Position Description:

The incumbent will primarily manage coordination tasks with ministries and agencies under the Government of Bangladesh (GoB) to ensure effective project processing and delivery of EDCF-funded development projects implemented by GoB. It also requires liaising with various authorities in relation to a wide range of administrative functions.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Administration: Conduct and support all administrative tasks related to office operations
    • Conduct and support administrative tasks on visa, air ticketing, transportation, logistics support and accommodation, and other issues related to the residence of international staffs
    • Conduct and support overall administrative tasks related to office operations and other ad-hoc administrative tasks
    • Conduct and support administrative procedures in the Issuance & renewal of the customs passbook and visa of international staffs; Purchase, registration, renewal, and sell of vehicle obtained by international staffs; and Obtaining security clearance of international staffs
    • Liaison with National Bureau of Revenue(NBR), Customs Bond Commissionerate(CBC), Passport Office, Economic Relations Division(ERD), Ministry of Home Affairs(MoHA), and Ministry of Foreign Affairs(MoFA) related to administrative tasks
    • Draft letter, e-mail, and presentation; translate of concerned materials in English-to-Bangla and Bangla-to-English
    • Manage contracts in related to the office operations, including Office Rent, Internet Service, and Cleaning Service
    • Conduct and support Office budget transaction; coordinate with respective banks related to concerned transaction.
    • Office inventory management, mileage calculation, maintain vehicle car log sheets, and purchase of office stationeries and supplies as required.
    • Administrative support to international staffs to organize and execute events with the relevant stakeholders, including meeting, discussion, training, workshop, seminar, and etc.
    • Maintain Office files to keep up-to-date records of documents regarding office operations
  2. Coordination: Liaise with ministries and executing agencies of GOB to assist effective project processing & delivery of EDCF-funded development projects throughout the project life cycle
    • Coordination support to harmonize key administrative procedures of Korea Government, Korea Eximbank (HQ), and GoB during project identification, preparation and implementation stage
    • Prepare reports and write-ups on a range of country-context general issues and security updates that may be relevant to office operations
    • Other tasks assign by the international staffs.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Development Studies, Business Administration, Economics or related fields from a reputed academic institution;
    * Advantage to Master’s degree holder and/or foreign diploma holder in such fields
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience, either with development partner’s/donor agencies, international NGOs, Embassies, or reputable research institute;
  • High level of proficiency in English and Bangla;
  • Strong writing, presentation, communication, analytic and translation skills;
  • Should be a team player with a strong ability to maintain good external/internal networks while maintaining utmost level of confidentiality, and;
  • Good knowledge of  public procurement, tax, vat and duties, logistics, transportation, contract management, and other related procedures of GoB as an advantage;

Job Location:
The incumbent will primarily work in our representative office located in Banani, Dhaka. However, the position requires occasional travel to different regions of Bangladesh.

Remuneration & Benefits:

  • Monthly salary of USD 850 will be paid in conversion of BDT. In addition, Korea Eximbank Dhaka Representative Office offers Annual-based Gratuity, Festival Bonus, and Periodical Health Checkup (Yearly basis), and etc.
