Invitation for Consulting Services on “Fisheries Livelihood Enhancement Project in the Coastal Area of the Bay of Bengal” from NGOs/Firms

Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) is an implementing agency of Japanese Official Development Assistance (ODA) in Bangladesh, which has been operating in Bangladesh since 1974. With our vision “Leading the world with trust”, JICA with its partners, aims to provide effective support to promote development that will result in sustainable socioeconomic growth and poverty reduction.

JICA has been supporting the implementation of the Technical Cooperation project entitled “Fisheries Livelihood Enhancement Project in the Coastal Area of the Bay of Bengal (FiLEP)” in the Cox’s Bazar District since 2022. The overall goal of the project is to improve the livelihood of small-scale coastal fishing communities in the district, which have been significantly affected by the sudden influx of Rohingya people from Myanmar in 2017.

Under the direct supervision and guidance of the JICA Bangladesh office, an NGO/firm to be procured will be responsible for implementing field-based activities that will directly contribute to achieving outputs 3 to 5 of the Project as indicated below.         

Output 3: Capacity of stakeholders for fisheries resource management is enhanced
Output 4: Small-scale fishing households acquire the skill to implement Alternative Income Generation (AIG) activities
Output 5: Nutrition status of the fishing household members is improved 

Interested firms/NGOs are requested to download the “Request for Proposal” from this link.

A hard copy of the proposal in accordance with the requirements specified in the RFP must be submitted to the JICA Bangladesh Office by 2:00 pm on 17th October 2023. It shall be in a sealed envelope and be clearly marked as Application for Technical Assistance Services for Fisheries Livelihood Enhancement Project in the Coastal Area of the Bay of Bengal. Any application received after the deadline will not be considered for the position and discarded.
