Job Summary:
JAGO NARI is a non-government development organization in the central coastal region of Bangladesh. The main focusing areas of work are women’s empowerment, Climate Change Adaptation, Health & Nutrition, Disaster Risk Reduction, and Education. Recently JAGO NARI implemented a new Project in the Women's Climate Change areas with the technical support of CARE Bangladesh. The project title is “Women-Led in Emergencies (WLiE) Project” The objective of the project is to Strengthen the organizational, financial, and technical capacities of WROs so that they can participate in preventing and responding to climate security risks at the local level regional and international level. The Project Officer-Gender will be responsible for effectively planning, coordinating, implementing, and monitoring gender-specific activities under the Women-Led in Emergencies Project. This role will focus on ensuring gender equality, women's empowerment, and the prevention of gender-based violence (GBV) in emergency settings. S/he will work with the Women Right Organization to prevention, response and adaptation to climate Change. JAGO NARI is seeking a Project Officer-Gender for this project. S/he will play a vital role in Gender Mainstreaming, Capacity Building, Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E), Advocacy and Stakeholder Engagement, and Documentation and Reporting. Project Planning and Implementation:
- Support the design and execution of gender-responsive plan/strategies in emergency settings following project plan.
- Ensure that all project activities are aligned with gender equality principles and the goals of the Women-Led in Emergencies Project.
- Conduct gender analysis and assessments to identify gaps and opportunities for intervention.
- Develop and facilitate gender-sensitive training and capacity-building sessions for women groups, community members, local leaders, project staffs, and relevant stakeholders.

Stakeholder Engagement and Partnership Building:
- Collaborate with local women's groups, community leaders, Local Governments, other service providers at Union/Upazila and District level.
- Facilitate advocacy agenda through ensuring community engagement for ensuring gender equality and women's rights in emergencies.
- Build strong relationships with government agencies, NGOs, and other key actors to promote gender-sensitive programming

Monitoring and Evaluation:
- Track and report on the progress of gender-related activities and objectives.
- Use gender-disaggregated data to monitor the impact of the project on women, girls, and marginalized groups.
- Prepare regular reports, case studies, and success stories to highlight the project’s impact on gender equality.
- Ensure compliance with donor requirements, including financial management and reporting.

Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Prevention and Response/ Gender Mainstreaming:
- Design and implement GBV prevention and response activities in emergency settings.
- Work with relevant service providers to provide referral support to the survivors of GBV with access to protection, psychosocial support, and other essential services.
- Advocate for the protection of women and girls from violence and abuse during emergencies.
- Ensure that gender equality and women’s empowerment are integrated into all project activities, strategies, and objectives.
- Provide technical guidance on gender-sensitive approaches for project design, implementation, and evaluation.

Advocacy and Networking:
- Promote gender-sensitive policies and practices within the organization and among partners.
- Advocate for the inclusion of women and girls in decision-making processes during emergency response.
- Organize awareness campaigns on gender equality and women's rights in climate situations.
- Advocate for gender-sensitive policies and practices at the local and regional levels, particularly in climate security and disaster risk reduction.
- Engage with local stakeholders to amplify women’s voices in emergency preparedness and response initiatives.

Financial and Administrative Responsibilities:
- Assist in budget development for gender-specific activities and ensure efficient use of resources.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of all project activities.
- Support the finance person on financial reports and submit them to the Project Manager.

Education Qualification & Experience:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Gender Studies, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or a related field. A Master’s degree in a relevant field is preferred.
- Experience: At least 3 years of experience in managing gender-related projects, preferably in humanitarian or emergency settings. Experience working with women’s groups or on gender-based violence (GBV) programs is highly desirable.
- Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of gender issues in emergency and climate situations, gender mainstreaming, and women’s rights.
- Technical Skills: Strong project management skills, including planning, budgeting, reporting, and M&E. Familiarity with GBV prevention and response programs.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to facilitate training sessions and engage with diverse stakeholders.
Computer skill:
- Have a sound knowledge and skills in basic computer operations, particularly in MS Office, including MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
Reporting to: Program Manager of the Project.
Salary & Benefits:
The salary package is Monthly BDT 43,333, including all admissible benefits and insurance. Yearly increments and other benefits will be provided as per the organization's policy.
