Institute of Water Modelling (IWM) is a self-sustained and not-for-profit independent Trust established in 1996. IWM service includes but is not limited to policy support, capacity building research and innovation, development advisory and consultancy services. IWM is a unique organization in Bangladesh that provides world class services in the fields of Water resources management, Climate & Environmental Studies, Water supply, Sewerage and Urban drainage management, Coast, port & estuary management, Flood Management, Irrigation Management, Survey and data, ICT and GIS and River Engineering for improved and sustainable Water Resources Management leading to Green Climate.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
Position Title: CLIMATE ASSOCIATE |

Job Responsibilities
- Collect, analyze, and interpret climate change data for risk and vulnerability assessments.
- Design, investigate optimal risk financing strategies.
- Develop reports on carbon financing mechanism.
- Prepare reports and presentations to communicate findings to diverse audiences.
- Collaborate with climate scientists, economists, and insurance professionals to develop options for climate risk financing and insurance.
Educational and Experience requirements:
- 5+ years’ experience with a postgraduate degree in environmental engineering, urban planning, finance, economics or related fields.
Essential Skill requirements:
- A strong understanding of climate change impacts, and vulnerability assessments.
- Good understanding of Carbon Finance Mechanism and Carbon Markets.
- Proficiency in using financial modelling tools, including risk assessment.
- Ability to produce good quality reports and presentations.
- A good understanding of insurance principles, product design, and risk underwriting.
- The ability to communicate complex technical information to diverse audiences.
