Position: ICT Assistant

International Training Network Centre (ITN-BUET), a specialized centre of the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), works to strengthen capacity in Bangladesh’s water supply and sanitation sector. Under a Gates Foundation–supported project, ITN-BUET invites applications from qualified, skilled, and self-motivated candidates for the position of ICT Assistant to support its ICT and digital communication activities.

1. Nature of Appointment

Full-time (Contractual). Renewable subject to satisfactory performance and organizational requirements.

2. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
  • Manage and maintain the ITN-BUET official website and Knowledge Repository Portal.
  • Develop, customize, and optimize WordPress themes (especially Divi Theme) ensuring performance, security, and responsiveness.
  • Maintain website hosting, backups, security configurations, and performance optimization.
  • Design digital materials, banners, and web assets in accordance with institutional branding guidelines.
  • Ensure effective UI/UX design for improved usability and accessibility of web platforms.
  • Manage official social media platforms and support digital outreach activities.
  • Coordinate and manage newsletter design and distribution using MailChimp.
  • Perform any other tasks assigned by the Supervisors/Manager/Director.

3. Educational Qualification

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science & Engineering (CSE), Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology (IT), or a relevant discipline from a recognized university.

4. Experience

  • Relevant experience in ICT support, website design and development, or digital platform management will be considered an advantage.
  • Experience in academic, research, or development organizations will be given preference.

5. Age Limit

  • Age of the applicant should not exceed 32 years as of the application deadline.

6. Expected Technical Skills and Competencies

  • Experience with WordPress theme/plugin development and management, particularly Divi Theme customization and layout design.
  • Knowledge of the LAMP stack (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP), Laravel framework, and web development technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Familiarity with UI/UX design principles.

7. Salary

Salary and other benefits will be provided as per ITN-BUET rules and will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
