We are currently looking for energetic, dynamic and enthusiastic person for the following position:

Assistant Director, Community Services

The position is responsible for planning, implementation and supervision of all secondary hospitals of IIEI&H and interfacing regularly with related staff members of main hospital in relation to operational activities. S/he is required to keep the Director, Community Services updated on operational issues of secondary hospitals. S/he also need to maintain close functional relation with Director, Medical Services to ensure effective and efficient implementation of clinical eye care services in secondary hospitals and community services. S/he is responsible for staff development, management and operations of secondary hospitals. S/he needs to maintain a congenial collaboration with the partners and the international organizations.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Organize, control, and coordinate services of secondary hospitals and vision centers as per the service rules of IIEI&H.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of secondary hospitals and policies for patient services, quality assurance, public relations, and department activities.
  • Work with other healthcare professionals to improve the efficiency and quality in the delivery of direct healthcare services.
  • Attention is to be given to systems, program development, quality, fiscal management, compliance and clinical management measures, physician relationships, work culture enhancement and internal communication and consensus building.
  • Enable secondary hospitals and vision centers to effectively and efficiently manage their operational functions by providing quality support and ensuring regular monitoring and need base capacity building.
  • Oversee as a resource to help reduce costs, enhance revenues, achieve effective utilization and quality goals and objectives, analyze and utilize information to develop and support management decisions.
  • Develop a friendly collaborative working culture within the team of secondary hospitals, actively sharing information and knowledge to enable the team to ensure effective support to each other.
  • Negotiate and administer the secondary hospitals administrative issues with Govt. Offices, Local Bodies and any other important 3rd parties.
  • Prepare projects, maintain consistent liaison with the overseas partners and organizations to enhance community services.
  • Implement security policies, regulations, rules & norms and make sure that the environment of the secondary hospitals are safe for employees and patients.
  • Oversee patient screening camps and other community activities at the grass root level.
  • Look After staff performance management and staff development.
  • Perform any other tasks as and when assigned by the competent authority.

The ideal candidates should have:

  • Master degree in Public Health/Development Studies/Social Science/relevant discipline from any reputed university.
  • At least 12 (twelve) years of progressively responsible work experience in the area of Hospital Management.
  • Experience in working with INGOs, International Development Organizations /UN would be preferable.
  • Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Experience in team management and team building consisting of different level of staff.
  • Strong interpersonal and liaison skills.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to secondary hospitals land vision centers located at different parts of the country.
  • Should have staff supervision and development skill.
  • Computer literacy & expertise in software handling is a must for the post.
  • Excellent communication (written and oral) and relationship management skills.
