Job Purpose
Under the general direction of the Program Leader/Scientist/Project Manager plan, conceptualize, plan and conduct research studies including activities such as preparation, improvement and/or development of necessary research tools, data collection, analysis and interpretation. Work closely with collaborating partner(s), exchange information and present research findings (seminars, conferences, publications). Supervise, researchers and research technicians. Prepare and provide training as needed. Coordinate the transfer of knowledge through different means, including training and demonstrations. Monitor the performance of extension programs and prepare and submit reports..
Roles and Responsibilities
Purpose
- Manage, analyze and report data from/on agricultural research and extension activities
- Develop manuals and support the conduct of training based on the manuals
- Monitor and evaluate field level performance related to different agricultural research and extension activities
- Evaluate and transfer mature technologies, identify technologies and provide technical inputs to national partners, civil society organizations, beneficiaries and communities related to agricultural technologies
- Assist implementing partners in organizing training's or demonstrations and assist in farmer-to-farmer extension of technologies
- Plan and organize practical demonstrations, field days and farmer training on different agricultural technologies
Engagement
- Coordinate the implementation of research activities and analyze data in the areas of crop and natural resource management
- Coordinate, conduct and facilitate trails, and maintenance and data gathering of field validation of agronomic trials
- Organize collection of data such baseline survey, agronomic data
- Establish collaboration links and partnerships with state department, agricultural universities, research enters, private companies and service providers
- Organize regular meetings with partners and stakeholders to discuss, streamline and implement activities
Delivery
- Prepare and submit report on issues related to performance and implementation of planned work activities
- Prepare presentations and reports on collected data
- Document recommendations to be shared
- Conduct Needs Assessments
- Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisor from time to time
Qualifications
- Master degree in Agronomy with minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in agricultural research and extension fields
- PhD in Agronomy and relevant work experience in agricultural research and extension field
Skills Required
- Has extensive work experience in the field of agriculture, with a specialization in Agronomy
- Has strong oral and written communication skill
- Has strong organizational skill
- Has experience in training management and facilitation
- Is computer literate in MS office and statistical data analysis and report writing
- Has experience in monitoring and documentation of fields activities
- Team player and able to work independently
- Experience in dissemination and delivery of agricultural technologies is distinct advantage
Location: Bangladesh
Salary Ranges: Basic (54,883- 101,167) BDT per Month
Other Benefits: Housing Allowance: 30% of base pay per month, Transport Allowance: 12000 BDT, Festival Bonus: 2 times each year, Contributory Provident Fund (CPF), Returning Mother Allowance: BDT-1,000 per month for 9 months to female employees post-delivery of a baby to support return to the workplace, Medical insurance coverage: maximum US$16,000/year and other admissible benefits.
