Position Title: Assistant Restaurant Manager

Department: Food & Beverage Service

Overall responsible for: Responsible for the effective running and organization of the restaurant. Manager should be involved in the following function: planning, costing, delegation, evaluation, organizing, cost control, interviewing, selection, discipline, setting target, counseling, standards, appraisals, training, human relation, communication and coordination. Is responsible for the smooth operation and production of goods and services under his/her control and the resources available to him/her. Keeping a constant eye on the standard of the ingredients, the meals, the restaurant environment and the service.              

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Implements high service standards as per hotel procedure
  • Represents the restaurant in the daily F&B meetings and in other meeting where his / her presence in required
  • Maintains employees’ attendance records, changes of status and evaluates his / her staff periodically
  • Schedules staff duties according to forecast and special arrangements
  • Holds daily briefings to discuss various aspects of service, sources of complaints and transmits information that has been brought to F&B meetings
  • Ensures high standards of sanitation and hygiene in the restaurant by working closely with both the housekeeper and Chief Steward
  • Promotes up selling at all levels and by personal efforts through guests contacts
  • Handles and advises the Division head of all guests comments and complaints
  • Ensures that the operating equipment and general supplies for the restaurant are maintain at the establish par stocks and initiates requisitions for additional supplies if necessary
  • Ensures that the service stations and the bar are properly equipped to service the guests
  • Ensures that he / she remains in close contact with the Band, One man Show, Belly Dancer, regarding all entertainment and technical equipment
  • Controls casual labor cost at agreed budget and full time team members overtime accumulation
  • Ensures tight control on all cigars, cigarettes and beverage stocks as per hotel standards
  • Maintains a written record of regular and VIP customer profiles, ensuring that their likes and dislikes are passed on to other concerned parties where necessary

  • Assure that all members within the team are correctly groomed according to Intercontinental standards
  • Performs are other duty as required by superior
  • Is fully aware of the licensing regulations and hotel procedures related to the bar and service of alcohol beverages and to conduct staff trainings accordingly
  • Has a full knowledge of the food and beverage served in the restaurant, their preparation and presentation.
  • Keeps the department book update
  • Is confident in answering the phone according to agreed standards, being fully aware of booking procedures, including parties and arrangements.
  • Adheres to all opening and closing procedures and table plans
  • Ensures that all guests are welcomed, seated and thanked on departure
  • Delegates duties when necessary
  • Creates an environment, which promotes staff morale and encourages the employee ensuring maximum efficiency
  • Maintains a level of confidentiality
  • Assists Manager in organizing his / her own promotions and activities in order to maximize sales opportunities
  • Visits competitive restaurants to assess the restaurant in the market and to compile a report before
  • Maintains and updates database of clients to complete a marketing and promotion plan on an ongoing basis
  • Co-operate with the company to achieve compliance with FLS legislation
  • Not undertake any activity which compromises their personal FLS, or the FLS of others
  • Report all accidents, dangerous occurrences, or hazards, no matter how minor, to the supervisor or Heads of Department
  • Comply with hotel rules and regulations and provisions contained in the employment handbook. 
  • Comply with company grooming standards at all times to portray a professional image of self and the hotel.
  • Comply with time and attendance policies set by the hotel.
  • Actively participate in training and development programs and maximize opportunities for self-development.
  • Demonstrate understanding and awareness of all policies and procedures relating to health, hygiene and fire life safety.
  • Familiarize yourself with emergency and evacuation procedures.
  • Ensure all security incidents, accidents and near misses are always logged in a timely manner and brought to the attention of the line manager.
  • Comply with the company’s corporate code of conduct.

  • Perform all tasks as directed by the manager in pursuit of the achievement of business goals.
  • Any task as and when required, not limited to.

Education:

  • Diploma in Hotel Management, Food & Beverage, or related field is required. Bachelor Degree in Hotel Management with Proven Track Records is preferred.

Qualifications:

  • Customer service skills and problem solving abilities.
  • Good organised and demonstrates good planning skills
  • Good understanding of the hotel and hospitality business
  • Demonstrated ability of interact with guests, employees and third parties that reflects highly on the hotel, the brand and the Company.
  • Good reading and writing abilities for completing paperwork and management reports, interpreting results, giving and receiving instructions, and training.
  • Good in the use of Microsoft Office.

Minimum Experience: 2 years related experience in 5* hotels/ luxury properties

Languages: Good in speaking and writing in English

Age: 28- 32

Physical Features: Sound Health & energetic

Skills Required:

  • Good in stress management
  • Good in communication.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment

Others: Needs to be positive minded & self motivated.

Salary: As per company policy.
