Job Context:

We are looking for resourceful Backend Developers who will be responsible for building modern web-based Restful APIs for mobile applications. You will be collaborating with our UI/UX designers, product managers, business analysts and all relevant teams in a bid to bridge the gap between requirements and technical implementation of projects while taking an active role in developing, testing, and deploying applications using a variety of technologies mainly in Node.js and PHP

Job Responsibilities:

  • Write complex backend code with Node.js (preferred)/PHP with laravel
  • Write well designed, testable, efficient code
  • Lead code reviews, API design reviews, or technical reviews of product stories
  • Provide technical guidance and assistance to other Jr. Software Engineers
  • Create automated builds and test with Docker is a plus
  • Analyze static code for test coverage, remediate code smells and vulnerabilities
  • Set up a development & testing environment for our domain
  • Independently plan, design, maintain and deploy web applications to meet our business needs
  • Research, guide and solve complex performance problems and architectural challenges
  • Develop and deploy new features to facilitate related procedures and tools if necessary
  • Ensure the accurate operation of web servers and software
  • Ensure designs are in compliance with specifications
  • Respond promptly and professionally to bug reports
  • Support continuous improvement by investigating alternatives and technologies and presenting these for architectural review
  • Stay up-to-date with new technologies and continuously evaluate and promote the use of new tools, techniques, frameworks, and platforms
  • Prepare technical documents

Key Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of experience building full-stack web projects with a significant focus on frontend and backend code, NoSQL database development and business logic
  • Strong knowledge in JavaScript, Typescript, Node.js, Express.js, GraphQL, Familiar with Docker, CI/CD
  • Good knowledge in Firebase authentication and push notifications
  • Knowledge in Email transmission technology SMTP, POP3, Imap etc.
  • Ability to architect and develop service-based backend: APIs, code, and data
  • Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues, responsive design and Git version control
  • Good knowledge in TDD and practicing it, as well as unit test, integration test, function test and system test
  • Good knowledge in logging libraries

Additional Qualifications:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to build a cutting-edge micro-services architecture following best-in-industry patterns

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent experience
