EXPRESSION OF INTEREST (EOI)
To participate in technical and business development training on ESG compliance and sustainability
PROGRESS Project
Swisscontact Bangladesh

1. Background

The Promoting Green Growth in the Ready-Made Garments Sector through Skills (PROGRESS) is a four-year (2022–26) project funded by the Embassy of Sweden and the Embassy of Switzerland in Bangladesh and implemented by Swisscontact. The project supports factories in the RMG supply chain to advance in green transition by building their resilience and competitiveness.

The purpose of this EOI is to create a pool of skilled ESG & Sustainability Consultants in the service market of Bangladesh by offering technical capacity-building and business development training. With enhanced capacities, it is expected that the ESG & Sustainability Consultants will be better equipped to deliver high-quality, affordable support to the supply chain of the RMG industry, particularly in areas such as Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) compliance and sustainability reporting.

This EOI is an opportunity to become a certified ESG & Sustainability Consultant. As a consultant, the consultants will receive industry relevant training and then apply their skills by providing direct consultancy services to participating RMG supply chain factories.

Innovision Consulting Private Limited will support the coordination and quality assurance of all training and factory-level interventions.

2. Objectives

The primary objective of this EOI is to select high-potential individuals from local consultancy firms and individual consultants to become certified consultants for ESG compliance and sustainability reporting.

Selected consultants will:

  • Receive comprehensive, expert-led training on ESG compliance assessment, sustainability reporting, and compliance standards, fully facilitated by the project.
  • Achieve certification upon successful completion of the training program.
  • Provide consultancy services to RMG supply chain factories, with the factories offering compensation in return, while applying their enhanced skills to drive measurable environmental and social improvements.

This initiative is designed to build professional capacity, enhance the consultant’s service portfolio, and position the trained consultants as leaders in the growing market.

3. Scope of Work for Selected ESG & Sustainability Consultant

The engagement is structured in two distinct phases:

Phase 1: Training and Certification

  • Commit to and fully participate in the mandatory training program on technical ESG skills and business development, delivered by a project accredited training partner.

Phase 2: Factory Service Delivery

  • Utilise the training to conduct ESG baseline assessments in assigned RMG supply chain factories.
  • Develop high-quality ESG and sustainability reports for factories, aligned with international standards and buyer requirements.
  • Assist factories in creating and maintaining essential compliance documentation, such as sustainability action plans, policies, and procedural guidelines.
  • Provide actionable recommendations for improvement and deliver follow-up support to ensure implementation.
