Reports to: Senior Project Manager, “Technical and Societal Innovation for Delivering Access to Community Wide Affordable Cylindered CBG for Cooking and Sustainable Fertiliser” project

Purpose of the job: The incumbent is responsible for coordination and execution of day-to-day implementation activities of the project in Jhenaidah municipality area.

Brief Background of the project: The “Technical and Societal Innovation for Delivering Access to Community Wide Affordable Cylindered CBG for Cooking and Sustainable Fertiliser” project aims at generating cylindered CBG, and sustainable fertilizer through recycling organic waste, collected and segregated from the Jhenaidah municipality area. The two-year project commenced on March, 2023, and will continue till February, 2025. The core components of the project include, sensitizing the community on waste segregation, waste collection from households, and institutions, and recycle it through the AD plant established in Jhenaidah municipality area. The project will be implemented in close coordination with Jhenaidah municipality.

Job Description

• Ensure effective planning, implementation, activity monitoring and follow-up of activities in the municipality areas.
• Work closely with Jhenaidah Municipality and other partners.
• Coordinate with different stakeholders at the municipality.
• Work closely with the waste management team of Jhenaidah Municipality.
• Conduct regular field visits and data collection.
• Participate in assessments, analysis, reviews and evaluation.
• Prepare reports for field visits, events and workshops.
• Build and maintain positive working relationships/networks with municipal authority, private sector partners and civil society.
• Organize meetings, events and workshops at the municipality.
• Perform any other task assigned by the supervisor and as per team requirements.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in any relevant discipline.
• 3-4 years’ experience in similar role at the field level.
• Knowledge on waste collection, segregation and management at the municipality level is a must.
• Excellent verbal and good written communication skills in English and Bangla.
• Ability to work productively in a highly collaborative setting (is a team player) while also able to operate independently with limited to no supervision.
• Proficiency in MS Office programs (specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
• Demonstrates awareness and sensitivity to gender and diversity (including sensitivity towards differently abled people).
• Experience in working with municipality authorities will be considered as an added advantage.
• Experience in Advocacy will be considered as an added advantage.
• Working experience at Jhenaidah will be considered as an added advantage.

Remuneration: The remuneration package and other facilities are subject to a holistic review of the Candidate’s profile, test results, and experience level (negotiable).
