Job Context
BIGD is a post graduate institute of BRAC University. We believe that governance and development challenges of any society needs to be tackled in a joined-up way with rigorous research and policy engagement. This is what we do and constantly strive to do better. We have a history of working closely with the government of Bangladesh through our research and also our Masters in Governance and Development (MAGD) program for public officials.

Position Summary
The SPA will work closely with the Head of Operations, Strategic Engagement and Partnership to manage strategic projects and events, coordinate multi-cluster projects, engage with partners and manage re-design and launching of MAGD (Masters in Governance and Development). This is an exciting position which will require engagement with multiple parties within and outside of BIGD, with a strong understanding of research and policy needs and commitment to institution building.

Major Responsibilities

As a Senior Programme Associate, your responsibilities will include:

• Re-design of Masters in Governance and Development (MAGD):

  • Work closely with Senior Advisor and Head of Operations, Strategic Engagement and Partnership to implement launch of MAGD in 2022
  • Help develop business plan and manage re-design of selected courses
  • Execute launching of re-designed progam
  • Any other tasks related to MAGD re-design

• New Business Development

  • Communicate with external partners regarding new business development
  • Write concept notes and proposals
  • Work with Finance team to manage budgets for strategic projects
  • Coordinate and consolidate reporting for strategic projects

• Partnership

  • Engage with government and non-government partners to support collaborative projects
  • Map partnerships and develop strategy for engagement
  • Support learning and development opportunities for BIGD researchers

Job Nature: This will be a full-time contractual position for 12 months. Senior Programme Associate will be reportable to Head of Operations, Strategic Engagement and Partnership, BIGD.

Qualifications:

  • Masters in Business Administration or any Social Science from reputed University
  • At least 3 years’ experience in project management, preferably from research/public policy organization
  • Experience in partnership engagement
