Based in : Cox’s Bazar.
Reporting to : Senior Logistics Officer.

The assigned person will be base in Cox’s bazar at PMO office to support the Logistics team under Logistics and Procurement Department.

Job Purpose:
The Driver – under immediate supervision of the Sr. Logistics officer is responsible for driving the IFRC/BDRCS vehicles and transport goods and related tasks relating to IFRC/BDRCS programmes and operations. 

 Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Always follow and Implement Federation standard operating procedure while operating vehicle.
  • Ensure preventative and curative maintenance of vehicles to maximise fleet potentiality.
  • Ensure routine check-up & cleanliness of vehicle before starting. Also ensure that, vehicle is roadworthy before commencing any trip.
  • Always maintain accurate records of every trip, including mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents that occur. Also keep record of all types of servicing and maintenance history as per IFRC fleet policy.
  • Ensuring the safety of himself/ herself, passengers, and others on the road. Also, they need to perform safety checks such as ensuring the seat belts and other safety features are working properly.
  • He/ She must adhere to all traffic laws and regulations, traffic signals and road signs.
  • He/ She must follow the federation ascertained speed limit on the roads.
  • Maintaining a professional and courteous demeanour when interacting with delegates, office staff and colleagues.
  • Support the delegation office to send document or any other material out of office.
  • Perform any other work-related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the supervisor.

Education Requirements:

  • Secondary School Certificate (S.S.C) completed or equivalent. Provide your S.S.C year, Board name, Registration Number and Roll Number on your CV.

Experience:

Required

  • Having Bangladeshi valid driving license (Light/ Medium type) with at least 5 years’ practical driving experience.

Preferred

  • Experience of working as a vehicle dispatcher
  • Experience of working with the Red Cross / Red Crescent
  • Experience of working for a humanitarian/non-profit organization

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Excellent driving skills including 4X4 handling skills.
  • Good mental and physical health.
  • Able to work independently and as part of the team.
  • Exceptional level of patience and able to work long hours.
  • Basic mechanical skills.
  • Ability to maintain accurate log records.
  • Sensitive to cultural, religious, political and regional issues.
  • Documentations preparation and filing skills will add extra preference.
  • Good time keeping.

Languages: Fluency in Bangla and Basic communication in English is highly preferable.

Salary Range: As per IFRC staff regulation.
