Position :  Consultant (National Staff)

Duration of the contract :  1 December 2020 – 15 January 2021, 1.5 months
Based in :  Dhaka
Reporting to Director- Disaster Response, BDRCS

The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) is seeking a Consultant to revise existing contingency plan and develop response SOP for Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS).

Job Purpose:

The main purpose of the consultant to review the existing contingency plan (both flood and cyclone) and response manual of  BDRCS and in consultation with relevant stakeholders, develop an effective contingency plan and response SOP (standard operating procedure) for BDRCS to ensure that BDRCS can reach most vulnerable people timely and efficiently.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Secondary document review
  • FGD, KII with relevant stakeholders as needed
  •   Tabletop simulation and capture lessons learned
  •   Share the draft document for their feedbacks
  •   Finalize the documents
  •   Prepare and submit the revised contingency plan of BDRCS both in Bangla and English
  •   Prepare and submit the disaster response SOP for BDRCS both in Bangla and English
  •   Final report as per the instructions provided in the detailed ToR.

Education Requirements:

  • Masters’ or higher degree in disaster management / development studies or related subject.

Experience:

  • Similar experience in developing contingency plan and SOP for national/ international organization.
  • Experience in coordinating processes, including liaising with different stakeholders.
  • Working experience in disaster management or related field.
  • Experience of working for the Red Cross/Red Crescent.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Analytical skills and ability to think strategically.
  • Knowledge of log frame-based project design, monitoring and evaluation.
  • Able to influence, communicate, co-operate, and negotiate with a wide range of people and organizations.

Salary Range: Negotiable
