iDE is an international NGO with over 30 years of experience in designing and delivering market-based anti-poverty programs in 11 countries. We are a world leader in making markets work for the poor as well as the longest established market development specialist NGO in Bangladesh. iDE believes that markets can be a powerful force for improving smallholder prosperity by creating income and livelihood opportunities for poor rural households. iDE Bangladesh currently has nine projects in agricultural markets, water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH), and access to finance with a focus on women’s economic empowerment and climate-smart technologies.

We are currently seeking an iQ Expert (Innovation and Quality) to join our team on the Women’s Economic Empowerment through Strengthening Market Systems (WEESMS) program. The iQ Expert will contribute to planning, monitoring, data collection, analysis, management and day to day iQ activities that include process monitoring, output and outcome monitoring of WEESMS programme. S/he will also support the capacity building of the programme team which is aligned with the DCED MRM framework and iDE-B’s ICT (Salesforce) system. The iQ Expert will also support the development of different study tools, checklists, methodology in compliance with donor requirements and accordingly execute in the field through Market Development officers.

Key Roles and Responsibilities
  • The iQ Expert is responsible for supporting the Senior iQ Expert to design, monitor, measure and report targets and their achievements in coordination with the project implementing team;
  • Contribute to reviewing the project ToC, Results chains, log-frame to ensure the indicators defined are SMART on all intervention levels and match the requirement of the donors;
  • Support in the data collection and data analysis of the project per the measurement plan and contribute to programme progress reports (monthly, bi-annually and annually); and any other reports as per project requirements;
  • Support concept, design, and implementation of Annual Survey, quarterly iQ assessment, needs assessments, project evaluations, impact assessments, and other studies; conduct and closely monitor the quality of the studies;
  • Support developing capacity among project staff and, where relevant, external stakeholders, to play an effective role in the MRM processes.
Education
  • Masters Degree in Business, Economics, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or other relevant disciplines
Work Experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Monitoring and Results Measurement/ M&E in rural development projects;
  • Demonstrated understanding of gender and development programming and implementation;
  • Proven, practical experience with market development approaches including Making Markets Work for the Poor (M4P) and value chain development, and monitoring methodologies such as the Donor Committee for Enterprise Development (DCED) Standard for Results Measurement (practical experience mandatory);
  • Ability to use standard software for data management/analysis such as SPSS. Skills in using STATA and other advanced software for data analysis will be an added advantage;
  • Ability to cohesively work with various team members, and the flexibility to adapt to different work conditions; and

Other Information and Conditions
  • The position would be the regular employment of iDE-B
  • The remuneration package, work days and deliverables might be change based on negotiation between iDE management and the contract
  • iDE reserves the right to terminate this agreement any time with the consultation of the employee as per HR policy
