Senior Officer, Special Asset Management: 01 Post

A. Qualifications

  • Bachelor with Honors in Business/Law with minimum CGPA of 3.00
  • A minimum of 01 year of experience in the relevant field in Banks/FIs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Strong ability to analyze financial data, identify risk factors, and make recommendations for resolutions.
  • Effective at managing relationships with stakeholders, borrowers, and legal teams.
  • Understanding of the legal processes related to debt recovery, including knowledge of secured assets and loan agreements.
  • Ability to negotiate settlements with borrowers and work towards resolving disputes.
  • Ensuring that all records, reports, and data are accurately maintained.
  • Proven experience in managing NPL accounts or working in credit recovery functions, ideally within financial services or banking.

B. Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in the transition of accounts that are delinquent or non-performing from the Business Unit (BU) to the Special Asset Management (SAM) team for further recovery action.
  • Analyze delinquent accounts and prepare reports on highest risk accounts, including recommendation and resolution.
  • Actively follow up on delinquent accounts using various methods: phone calls, in-person visits, letters, etc., to initiate discussions with borrowers and encourage repayments.
  • Work closely with internal teams, including legal, and other stakeholders, to explore and implement solutions for resolving outstanding debts.
  • Assist borrowers in finding settlement options or restructuring terms that are agreeable to both the lender and the borrower.
  • Assist the legal team in starting legal proceedings against defaulting borrowers.
  • Ensure that all necessary documentation and procedures are in place for taking legal action.
  • Take necessary steps for execution of securities.
  • Ensure that records of NPLs are accurately maintained and updated in the relevant databases.
  • Document all interactions with borrowers, legal actions, and outcomes as part of the recovery process.
  • Preparation and submission of various reports and memos.
  • Provide insights or recommendations to senior management on improving recovery efforts.
  • Represent IDCOL in court proceedings related to defaulting borrowers, ensuring that the legal actions are pursued and that the company’s interests are protected during litigation.
