The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), established in 1863, works worldwide to provide humanitarian help for people affected by conflict and armed violence and to promote the laws that protect victims of conflict. An independent and neutral organization, its mandate stems essentially from the Geneva Conventions of 1949. Based in Geneva, Switzerland, it employs around 20,000 people in 100 countries; it is financed mainly by voluntary donations from Governments, National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies. The ICRC Dhaka delegation is now looking for an enthusiastic, dedicated and motivated person for the following position:

Position : Supply Chain Manager (Coordinator)
Department : Logistics

The ICRC is looking for an experienced Supply Chain Manager for a position of Supply Chain Coordinator. The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for overall Supply Chain coordination including demand planning, forecasting, inventory management, communication with all supply chain stakeholders and customer service for delegation internal customers. The Supply Chain Manager implements order fulfilment guidelines, facilitating the collaborative demand planning (CDP) process and ensuring all customer needs are understood, met, delivered and well communicated.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervises and manages the work of the Supply Chain team consisting of Planning, Order Management and Import/Export
  • Coordinates the overall Supply Chain process with respective stakeholders
  • Prepares all necessary data for the CDP process to run smoothly.
  • Works with other departments/delegations to adjust demand plans following unforeseen circumstances.
  • Supervises planning parameters to generate optimal inventory levels and meet customer requirements fully and in line with the contingency plan.
  • Reviews, processes and analyses all material resource planning (MRP) messages and makes decisions accordingly.
  • Interprets the combined supply and demand view in the JD Edwards software system, identifies challenges and inconsistencies and proposes solutions if needed.
  • Anticipates risk in customer orders, engages with customers to keep them informed and works proactively to mitigate any issues and/or suggest alternative solutions.
  • Implements and monitors order fulfilment processes.
  • Analyses the delivery of services and provides solutions to problems. Checks and analyses the impact of all consolidated supply chain solutions and proposes optimal solutions to problems.
  • Seeks customer feedback to investigate ways of improving customer experience.

Educational requirements:

Educational background in Supply Chain Management or Logistics

Professional requirements:

  • At least six years of experience in similar role with proven leadership/managerial experience.
  • Experience in Humanitarian sector will be considered as an asset.
  • Experience in customer service.

Personal qualities for the position:

  • Strong professional background in Supply Chain Management
  • Very good command of English and computer literacy.
  • Knowledge of industries ERP system and processes will be considered an asset
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision respecting the established framework.
  • Ability to define priorities.
  • Ability to adapt to and work in a multicultural team environment.
  • Excellent sense of responsibility and confidentiality.
  • Team spirit and capacity to integrate a multidisciplinary approach.
