Knowledge and Innovations Manager, SONGO
Location: Dhaka with frequent travel to the field and staying in the field for longer durations Reports to: Project Manager- SONGO &
Head of Programs
Nature of Job: Full time Level: Senior -level position

I. Job Context:

ICCO Cooperation part of Cordaid (www.icco-cooperation.org) is an international organization, whose mission is to end poverty and injustice in the global south, in partnership with enterprising people. ICCO Cooperation is implementing an EU funded “Sustained Opportunities for Nutrition Governance (SONGO) project” to improve maternal and child nutrition in Kurigram and Gaibandha districts. The SONGO project is 5 years duration with 4 inter-linked outcomes; (1) establishing upazila nutrition governance, (2) improving maternal and child health, nutrition (3) improving WASH practices (4) enhancing availability and access to safe and nutritious food.
The Knowledge and Innovations Manager will report directly to the PM/Head of Programs and be responsible for coordination with the field team to capture the learnings & achievements and disseminating these to the donor and other stakeholders. The critical role of this position will be to assess the changes/impacts of extremely poor households by tools development, data/information collection, data processing and analysis and finally documenting the successes or failures. He/she will be responsible to generate high-quality reports for donors, stakeholders, and high official at ICCO global and country level collogues.

II. Responsibilities and Tasks:

Establish learning, knowledge management, and showcasing system:

  • Lead the development of learning and knowledge management strategies to ensure minimum standards and implementation across project.
  • Actively work with field team to capture the achievement, learnings through different study, research, investigation, case studies, etc.
  • Identify appropriate technology solutions for knowledge management & learning (i.e. document/content management, communication channel etc.)
  • Build a well-curated database for learning from evaluations, project reports, and other relevant information which are easily retrievable and updated
  • Ensure better management of existing sources of knowledge (e.g field reports) and make SONGO’s studies and reports more easily accessible.
  • Work with the PMEL team to document the lessons learnt from implementation in field.
  • Write the successes and learning stories and share them with the team members and other stakeholders.
  • Organize national and local level events to disseminate the learnings and achievements to the different stakeholders.

Promote Innovations:  

  • Closely work with the technical team to design innovative activities and interventions for sustainability of the project initiatives.
  • Promote innovations through identifying, roll out and mentoring it in the field
  • Build spaces to enhance innovation and learning by bring different stakeholders, including entrepreneurs, technologists and others working for social good that share SONGO values
  • Support the design and implementation of innovative pilot activities that align with the project goal and targets

Develop sustainability strategy of the project

  • Develop sustainability strategies for the project interventions and oversee planned implementation with the field team
  • Identify improved opportunities, assist with the revision of work plans and advice the project manager of possible adjustments to meet the project objectives.
  • Guide and manage sub-contractors in order to ensure proper deliverables

High quality report preparation, and documentation

  • Develop the high-quality annual report and other periodic reports for the donors and other stakeholders
  • Generate, update,  document and share the learning and best practices of the project and approach
  • Establish dissemination strategy
  • Disseminate the learning and best practices to the wider audiences and higher level stakeholders both inorganization and out-organizations.
  • Prepare comprehensive technical reports and project proposal documentation, to support technical presentations and briefings to donors and other stakeholders as required
  • Actively work with team to develop ToR for outsourcing of the services and ensure high quality deliverables and documents from the consultants and outsources.

Coordination and Networking 

  • Coordinate with field team and provide support for the implementation of the project activities
  • Establish networking relationships with the public-private sectors and other partner organizations
  • In absence of PM, coordination with the other EU funded program such as JANO, LEAN, BleNGS, SUCHANA, MUCH project or steering committee and GO for sharing learning and direction for the betterment of beneficiaries 
IV. Working Conditions:
  • Working days from Sunday to Thursday with 40 hours per week. This position may be required to work some overtime hours to attend meetings such as the Annual Audit.
  • Frequently field visit and will have to stay at filed at least 50% in filed
  • Any other tasks assigned by the supervisor from time to time.
  • Yearly renewable the contract based on fund availability and performance.
  • Have to follow ICCO HR, Admin and Finance related policy.

VI. Key Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in any discipline from nationally and internationally well reputed university.
  • 5+ years of experience on knowledge management, documentation, monitoring and evaluation skill with well reputed organizations.
  • High quality report writing and documentation skill
  • Experience in governance-related project implementation and ICT/digital technology related knowledge and skill will be preferred
  • Key skill in strategy development and innovative interventions design skill for the sustainability of the project.
  • Experience in coordination with the field team and skill in tracking project progress along with the preparation of regular progress reports.
  • Skill in preparing the ToR for consultant hiring and experience to guide consultants to get high quality deliverables.
  • Proven record of accomplishment of successfully delivering high quality report, documentation skill including communication skill.
  • Experience in coordination with government and different stakeholders.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skill, problem solving skills, strong value-based commitment to right based approach
  • Good computer skills in MS Office
  • Excellent written and speaking in English and Bangla
