The Hunger Project Bangladesh:
The Hunger Project-Bangladesh (THP-BD) is a highly-regarded, the largest volunteer-based development organization in the country, with over 250,000 volunteers, implementing strategies of gender-focused community-led development across the country since 1991 to create hunger and poverty free self-reliant Bangladesh. The Hunger Project empowers millions of women and men, youth leaders, local elected representatives, CSO to end their own hunger.

| Project Brief |
Leveraging on the THP-BD’s existing nearly 100,000 strong network of Youth Ending Hunger (YEH) volunteers across the country, this project will build a new generation of leadership – a nationwide cadre of young women and men educated in the fundamental principles of democracy and committed to restoring Bangladesh’s founding principles of inclusive democracy. By focusing on awareness creation, technology, and social and political engagement, the initiative aspires to create a generation of informed, empowered, and active citizens who contribute meaningfully to the socio-economic and political fabric of Bangladesh. The project will emphasize the cultivation of critical thinking and ethical decision-making skills. The project aims to leverage technology to connect with the tech-savvy youth population. In addition to in-person engagements, online platforms, social media will be utilized to disseminate information, conduct virtual workshops, and facilitate discussions on pertinent civic issues.
Overall objective:
Strengthening the existing national youth network (Youth Ending Hunger) by engaging politically and socially involved youth for promoting Bangladesh’s founding values of pluralism, inclusiveness and tolerance including sense of citizenship. The specific objectives of the project are:
- Equip youth network members with the knowledge, critical thinking skills and resources needed for democratic participation and create a supportive environment for collaboration and collective action.
- Connect, engage, and mobilize the youth, utilizing social media, online forums, and webinars for discussions and information dissemination.
- Empower network members with effective advocacy and activism skills to voice their concerns and initiate social action projects that align with democratic values.

| Position Profile |
This is a managerial position responsible for overseeing the overall implementation of the project, including planning, coordination, facilitation, stakeholder communication, report generation and ensuring activities are executed in aligned with the project proposal. Beyond this specific project, the role will also support the implementation of the core SDG Union program and networking/advocacy/nutrition program as needed. |
| Major Duties & Responsibilities |
- Develop and manage detailed project plan to ensure timely execution of activities in line with project proposal/program designed
- Oversee resource allocation and ensure efficient use of resources to meet the project/program goal.
- Lead coordination among team members and relevant departments/units to streamline project/program activities.
- Facilitate meetings, workshops, and training sessions as part of project/program implementation.
- Serve as the primary point of contract for stakeholders, including donors and partners
- Maintain clear and consistent communication to ensure alignment with project objectives
- Track project/program progress, monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), and ensure timely reporting to stakeholders.
- Generate regular narrative reports in English detailing project outcomes, challenges, lesson learned and recommendations for improvement.
- Ensure all project activities are executed in accordance with the project proposal and timelines
- Address any challenges or delays in implementation, providing solutions to keep the project on track.
- Keep accurate record and maintain electronic data-base of all elements of the project/program
- Supervise and mentor team members, fostering a positive and collaborative working environment.
- Ensure proper financial management and compliance of the project as per donor requirement and project proposal.
- Assist and contribute to the scaling, replicating and sustainability of the SDG Union model through continuous support and involvement in related initiatives.
- Ensure that all project activities comply with organizational policies, donor guidelines, and relevant legal frameworks.
- Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies to address potential challenges
- Provide necessary support to training team to design and develop training and workshop material/module.
- Work closely with M&E specialist and staff to develop and implement M & E tools.
- Any other work required by Project management.

| Educational Qualifications and Language Skills |
- Master’s Degree in Social Science or related disciplines with excellent academic result from reputed university.
- Excellent command over in English both verbal and written is necessary.

| Other Qualifications and Experiences |
- Minimum 8-10 years experiences in the related field, particularly civic education and youth engagement, community empowerment, mobilization and networking, out of which at least 5 years in the managerial position in non-profit organizations
- Sound knowledge on project management, project cycle, and result based management.
- Experience in managing multi-donor project independently or with minimum supervision.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, creativity, resourcefulness and flexibility
- Exceptional transformative leadership skills
- Strong team-building, representational and diplomatic skills and building relationship.
- Proven interpersonal and intercultural skills, including flexibility and sensitivity
- Sound knowledge of country’s socio-political culture, governance, democracy and social development issues.
- Skills in Microsoft words, excel and PowerPoint.
- Sound technical knowledge of social media like face book, twitter, you tube, zoom, Tumblr. etc.
- Experience of writing project report writing both in Bangla and English.
