The Hunger Project empowers millions of women and men, youth leaders, local elected representatives, CSO to end their own hunger.

Project Background:

Multi-stakeholder Initiative on Peace and Stability (MIPS), is a five-year long Programme of THP started at 1st March 2023. The Programme is funded by FCDO. The Programme will primarily contribute to defuse political, communal and ethnic violence. The Programme activities also relate to engage local peace volunteers and peace groups in violence prevention and conflict resolution as well as ensure the participation of women and youth and their representation in governance structures at local level. The Programme will also contribute to improve political and civic space with a more collaborative and tolerant politics at local level.   

Job Summary

The Training Officer will be responsible for assisting the Training and Capacity Building Team in training design, training plan and manual development of the project in collaboration with the project team. S/he will work closely with Training and Capacity Building Expert to implement the entire training program. S/he will also require collecting necessary information about the stakeholders’ recommendations to the Programme and the contextual changes at the ground to support the Deputy Programme Director to make the Programme to be adaptive with appropriate training and capacity building events and implementation strategies. The position is based in THP-BD Dhaka Office and reports to the Training and Capacity Building Expert.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Preparing training plan, training calendar and working together with the Training and Capacity Building team in coordination with the project team for contributing effectively to achieving Programme goal.  
  • Conducting training need assessment as necessary over the staff and the stakeholders including women and youth. 
  • Prepare/revise training module/ materials as necessary including on peace and social justice in consultation with the Supervisor and the project & THP team, as appropriate.
  • Organize training/ TOT and other capacity building events as necessary for the Programme staff and other stakeholders of the Programme.  
  • Conduct training/ TOT and other capacity building events as necessary for the Programme staff and other stakeholders of the Programme.
  • Conducting training evaluation and writing training reports incorporating pre-test and post-test results to demonstrate the immediate results of the training.  
  • Impart field visit to document the effectiveness of the training, document case studies and identify best practices.
  • Manage super functional working relationship with the Programme stakeholders and improve the Programme effectiveness for achieving Programme goal.   
  • Contribute to prepare presentation, Programme brief and other necessary materials including various communication materials incorporating relevant BCC issues.
  • Any other tasks assigned by the line manager for achieving Programme goal.

Requirement for the position

Educational Qualification

Bachelor degree in Law/ Governance/Social Science or any other related disciplines.
Good command over English and Bangla both verbal and written is necessary. 

Other Qualification and Experiences

  • Minimum 5 years’ work experiences in the development sector of Bangladesh through National/ international NGOs with particular focus on training on governance issues.
  • Solid experience in design and conduction of training need assessment, training materials development, organizing training and conduction of training and documenting training results. 
  • Sound knowledge in political, communal, and ethnic violence in Bangladesh.
  • Solid working experience with the Multi-stakeholder Platforms for governance and reforms.
  • A socially active person who has good networking skills.
  • Challenge taker and meet the deadline.
  • Expert level competency with Microsoft word, Excel, Power point, and Outlook.

Work condition 

Office based Job- 50% and Field job/travel- 50%

Compensation: Negotiable
