We are currently seeking Intern – Communications, Media Management and Archiving for USAID’s Bandarban Agriculture and Nutrition Initiative (BANI) led by Helen Keller Intl.
COUNTRY PROGRAM OVERVIEW
Starting in 1978 by promoting and implementing Nutrition programs, today, Helen Keller Bangladesh is implementing large scale food and health systems program work in Dhaka, the Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT), Sylhet, Sathkhira, Bogura, Pabna and Narayangonj through and with the government of Bangladesh, as well as national and international partners and NGOs, academic and research institutions, and the private sector.
Since its beginning, Helen Keller Bangladesh has worked with over 150 local, international and government partners to establish Enhanced Homestead Food Production (HFP) programs benefiting over 4.5 million people. We are currently implementing programs to prevent blindness and Neglected Tropical Diseases alongside to programs to improve nutrition and food security that integrates gender-sensitive approaches.
JOB TITLE: Intern – Communications, Media Management and Archiving
POSITION: 8
REPORTS TO: Director of Collaboration, Learning and Adaptation (CLA) and Communications.
SUPERVISES: N/A
JOB LOCATION: Dhaka/Bandarban
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Media Management and Content Creation:
- Develop content and support the management of the Facebook and YouTube pages of USAID’s Bandarban Agriculture and Nutrition Initiative (BANI), including regular updates and engagement with followers.
- Edit videos to create engaging content for online platforms, highlighting program activities and achievements.
- Revise/edit subtitles in the videos for accuracy and readability.
- Combine multiple short video clips into shorter segments, crafting emotionally compelling content to resonate with the audience.
Communications Material Enhancement:
- Assist in the creation of PowerPoint presentations and formatting reports, as well as providing translation or interpretation services as needed.
- Compile comprehensive reports for various stakeholders, including donors and government agencies.
- Edit and format communications materials, reports, and presentations to ensure clarity and professionalism.
- Develop infographics to visually represent key program data and achievements.
Administrative Support and Documentation Management:
- Provide administrative support during meetings, workshops, and field visits, including organizing logistics and preparing meeting minutes.
- Manage documentation of key program materials and agreement deliverables, ensuring proper archiving of both hard and soft copies.
- Support the distribution of program documents to internal and external audiences, ensuring accessibility and compliance with branding requirements.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
ACCOUNTABILITY:
The intern is accountable to the Director of Collaboration, Learning and Adaptation (CLA) and Communications. Timely completion of assignments, in addition to overall quality of products, are the main areas of assessing performance.
RECRUITMENT REQUIREMENTS
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in development studies, Social Science, Communications, Journalism, media or any other related field.
Job related experience and knowledge:
- No prior experience is required.
- Capacity to provide interpretation (Bangla-English required)
- Experience using social media and understanding its use in professional settings is preferred.
- Experiencing formatting documents for publication or reporting purposes and preparing presentations is preferred
- Willingness to travel to remote areas for work purposes is required
- Proficient knowledge of operating office suite software including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required.
- Experience with software for editing videos and graphic design is desirable.
- Must be a team player with mutual trust and understanding in a mixed team.
- Excellent English and Bangla written and verbal communication skills.
- Collaborative and positive intercultural, and overall social skills.
