Young Professional (YP) - WASH |
The IWASH project aims to implement inclusive and gender-responsive WASH initiatives in culturally sensitive settings. As part of its field implementation structure, the project deploys Young Professionals (YP) who act as frontline support effective and timely project implementation while building the knowledge, skills, and professional capacity of emerging development practitioners.

The key responsibilities for this role may include the following but are not limited to:
Key Responsibilities:
Project Support & Implementation
- Assist in planning, coordination, and implementation of project activities.
- Learn and assess the contextual gender roles and norms to support project effective implementation.
- Support field visits, community engagement, data collection exercises and organizing events
- Maintain proper documentation of project progress and / or learning based on field observations and decisions. Develop case story to create evidence of project progress/ learning.
- Facilitation to network with local government institutions, NGOs, and community-based organizations.
Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL)
- Assist in data entry, analysis, and reporting of the project progress and ideas.
- Support to roll out MEL tools, surveys, and assessments.
- Contribute to developing learning documentation, knowledge products, and case studies.
Research & Analysis
- Conduct desk research, literature reviews, and situation analyses in terms of qualitative and quantitative data collection.
- Support feasibility study, gender and social inclusion need assessments and stakeholder mapping.
- Support collecting/update existing referral mechanisms and service mapping in the working areas regarding PSEAH and GBV.
Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare field trip reports, meeting minutes, activity briefs, and success stories.
- Assist in generating information for donor reports and presentations.
Professional Development
- Participate in capacity-building sessions and learning workshops.
- Demonstrate willingness to learn from peer colleagues and contribute to achieving team goals.
Required Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Public Health, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field.
Experience:
- 1 years’ experience in NGO especially in the WASH sector or rural development, is strongly preferred.
- Strong interest in WASH, community mobilization and engagement, and social inclusion.
- Good command of MS Office (Word, Excel), smartphone-based data collection tools, and record keeping.
Skills & Competencies:
- Basic understanding of development issues (e.g., WASH, climate change, gender).
- Basic knowledge of MS Office, data tools, and report writing.
- Knowledge and expertise in data collection, analyzing and reporting
- Ability to work in a team and adapt quickly
- Integrity, accountability, and a strong learning mindset.
- Willingness to travel frequently to rural project areas.
- Strong communication skills in Bangla and English (written and spoken).
- Strong analytical skills, proactiveness, creativity, positive attitude, and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.

We offer you
A 09-month internship contract (extendable based on funding availability and performance) with a monthly consolidated salary in the range of BDT 30,000 – BDT 35,000 CTC (may vary based on experience and current remuneration), along with other admissible benefits. Other benefits include travel allowance, HELVETAS public holidays, 2 days of the weekend, paid annual leave of 25 days and 15 days of sick leave.
