Project Intern - Monitoring, Documentation & Communication |
The project aims to pilot and sustain nature-based solutions for Springshed management, with a focus on comprehensive hydrogeological understanding, stakeholder engagement, and systematized monitoring of interventions. The intern will support the implementation of activities aligned with the following steps:
- Comprehensive mapping of springs and springsheds
- Setting up data monitoring systems
- Understanding current social and governance systems
- Hydrogeological mapping and recharge area identification
- Designing and planning spring shed management measures
The intern will assist the project team in capturing, organizing, and communicating critical information generated throughout the Springshed management process. This includes contributing to field-based data collection, supporting documentation and visualization of findings, and aiding in communication with various stakeholders.
The key responsibilities for this role may include the following but are not limited to:
Key Responsibilities:
Monitoring & Data Management
- Assist in developing and maintaining a systematic database of springs, spring sheds, and related hydrogeological data.
- Support field teams in data collection and validation during comprehensive mapping and monitoring set-up.
- Help track progress against key milestones of Springshed management steps.
Documentation
- Document processes, learnings, and outcomes from field activities and stakeholder engagements.
- Prepare structured reports, case studies, and knowledge products that reflect the progress of each project activity.
- Capture and organize visual content (photos, maps, diagrams) for communication and reporting purposes.
Communication & Outreach
- Support the preparation of communication materials including briefs, infographics, social media content, and presentations.
- Assist in stakeholder communication and coordination for field activities, workshops, and community consultations.
- Translate complex technical processes into accessible messages for non-technical audiences.
Learning Opportunities:
- Gain hands-on experience in nature-based resource management.
- Develop skills in field-based data collection, hydro-social documentation, and participatory communication.
- Work with multidisciplinary teams including technical experts, local communities, and governance actors.
Required Qualifications:
Education:
- Have recently completed a Bachelor’s degree or currently enrolled in a master’s program in Forestry or Environmental Science or a relevant discipline from a reputed University.
- A postgraduate student currently engaged in or preparing a research or thesis work with a strong interest in nature-based solutions will have added advantage.
Experience:
- Must be comfortable working in multi-stakeholder and cross-cultural settings.
- Strong interest in nature-based solutions, hydrology, or rural development.
- Basic understanding of monitoring tools, GIS, or data visualization is an asset.
- Ability in written and verbal communication skills in English (and local language if applicable).
- Ability to work independently and in remote field environments.
- Knowledge of CHT context is essential and willing to stay in Dighinala upazila in Khagrachori.
- Motorcycle driving and with a license is an advantage

We offer you
A 11-month internship contract starting from 01 August 2025 with a monthly gross internship allowance of BDT. 20,000 along with other admissible benefits. Other benefits include HELVETAS public holidays, 2 days of the weekend, paid annual leave of 25 days and 15 days of sick leave.
