Project Manager

We are looking for a Project Manager for the resilient and inclusive Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) component under Climate Change Programme. This position will be based in our Khulna Office and be supervised by the Programme Manager - Climate Change. Have a look at the detailed job description here.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the WASH project based on understanding climate change resilience and adaptation context in the southwest coast of Bangladesh.
  • Develop a clear understanding of the organizational guidance on the WASH program and ensure proper implementation through the team and partners.
  • Ensure partners are equipped with the agreement, annual plans, operational budgets, and required resources to implement the project effectively.
  • Ensure, in collaboration with the project team, that the implementing partners have adequate capacity to implement their activities and propose capacity-building activities as required.
  • Build excellent partner relations with the partners and local government and ensure smooth collaboration.
  • Lead WASH project team through well-orientation on Helvetas values, principles, and personnel regulations, and their rights are ensured accordingly.
  • Ensure capacity building of the team members and partners on guidance on the WASH program, project budget, water quality testing, and visibility.
  • Lead documentation, lessons learned, best practices from the field, and dissemination at different levels, including national and global conferences and workshops.
  • Work closely with the climate change and sustainable development team to integrate the learning in the Climate Change program of Helvetas.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Social Science/ Development Studies/ Climate Change & Development/ Environmental Science/ Disaster Management/ Economics, and other relevant fields.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, preferably in the non-profit sector with reputed national and international NGOs.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in people management at national and international organizations.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in partnership management with local and national NGOs.
  • Understanding of the project management cycle and ability to strategically steer a project.
  • Fluency in English and good report-writing skills.
  • Skills in operating MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, and virtual applications.

One-year national employment contract with competitive salary including benefits such as PF, Gratuity, Festival Bonus, Insurance, and others as per HR policy. Based on fund availability and individual performance, the contract would be extended.
