As per January 2020 or upon agreement we are looking for suitable personnel that will be responsible for the implementation of the Strengthening and Informative Migration Systems (SIMS) Project of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), which aims to improve the wellbeing of labour migrants through safer migration and better migration governance. 

The recruitment for this 4-years project (with option of a 2nd phase) is subject to the acceptance of the HELVETAS offer by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC). HELVETAS Swiss Intercooperation is inviting applications for the following positions:

National Safe Migration Capacity Development Expert

She/he will be responsible for the capacity building of public as well as private sector agencies in providing services for safe migration. She/he will work with partner organisations to enhance delivery systems and capacities of government and non-government stakeholders in providing pre-departure and pre-employment orientation services including access to effective skills development support. She/he will have a Master’s Degree in Political, Economic or Social Sciences and at least 5 years of experience in the labour migration sector and related information and service provision systems, as well as in the design and implementation of capacity development, knowledge management and advocacy support programmes.

National Legal Aid & Alternative Dispute Resolution Expert

She/he will be responsible for the capacity building support for national and district level legal aid service delivery to improve migrant workers’ access to justice, for the promotion of access to formal and informal redress mechanisms, and for the advocacy and awareness rising on migrant worker’s rights and relevant legislation. She/he will have a Master’s Degree in Political or Social Sciences, Law and/or Development/Gender Studies with a good understanding of the legal framework governing the labour migration sectors and with at least 5 years of experience in operationalising the deliveys of alternate dispute resolution and legal/para-legal aid services.

National Financial Literacy & Remittance Management Expert

She/he will be responsible for the capacity building support to public and private sector agencies in delivering financial literacy services and in facilitating business linkages for an improved and more effective remittance management by migrant workers and their families left behind. She/he will have a Master’s Degree in Economic or Social Sciences and/or Development Studies and at least 5 years of experience in the labour migration sector and expertise in remittance management, business development, financial services and literacy training.

National Finance and Administration Manager

She/he will be responsible for the overall finance management and administration of the Project Coordination Unit. She/he will prepare the overall project accounts and advise project partner organisations in regard to finance management and accounting issues. She/he will have a higher education in accounting, such as a Degree in Economy and Commerce, Business Administration or Accounting and Finances, and a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in finance and administration, of which at least 3 years in similar positions.
