GENERAL CONTEXT AND BACKGROUND:

HEKS/EPER is a swiss INGO founded in 1946. HEKS/EPER is supporting local partner organizations with around 200 projects in 34 key countries worldwide. HEKS/EPER Bangladesh Office cooperates with NGO active in the field of development cooperation and humanitarian aid. In Bangladesh our support is targeted at social, ethnic and religious minorities, especially plain land Adibashi and Dalit communities in the Northwest part of the country. At the same time, we provide emergency relief and aid under the supervision of HEKS/EPER Humanitarian Aid Department.

Rohingya fled their homes in Myanmar August 2017, where huge refugee camps have formed. Since September 2017, HEKS/EPER has supported Humanitarian Aid interventions in the refugee camp. HEKS/EPER is expanding these interventions and is searching for competent staff to implement activities.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:

Tasks
Assessment, Training facilitation and Coordination
  • Assist MEAL and Grant Coordinator (MGC) to assess Healthcare Facilities in the refugee camps;
  • Document key achievement, challenges and lesson learnt from healthcare facility assessment;
  • Facilitate WASH FIT (Facilities Improvement Tools) trainings in the camp according to WHO-UNICEF developed manual specifically on i) Infection Prevention and Control, ii) Health care waste management, iii) Cleaning and disinfection, iv) Patient area and Environmental cleaning, v) Pros and Cons etc.;
  • Prepare presentations, Flyer and Other materials for the trainings and workshop;
  • Assist MGC to coordinate with healthcare facility in-charge, Medical doctors and WASH programs of other agencies;
  • Assist MGC for the supervision, coaching and mentoring of Health Care Facility staffs i.e. Medical doctor, IPC nurse and Waste management focal persons in the camp.
Safety and Security
  • Assess and consult other partners to ensure security situation of planned locations is calms; Ensure risk assessment and share security information;

REQUIRED PROFILE AND EXPERIENCE:

Education and professional experience
  • Medical doctor (MBBS) with 2-3 years of experience; MPH is an added value
  • Working experience in Emergency context is a must
  • Strong training facilitation skills

Professional requirements

  • Good knowledge of security management in humanitarian contexts
  • Communication skills vis-á-vis donors and local governmental authorities
  • Excellent computer skills

Language

  • Fluent English skills (written, spoken and reading)
