GENERAL CONTEXT AND BACKGROUND:
HEKS/EPER is a swiss INGO founded in 1946. HEKS/EPER is supporting local partner organizations with around 200 projects in 34 key countries worldwide. HEKS/EPER Bangladesh Office cooperates with NGO active in the field of development cooperation and humanitarian aid. In Bangladesh our support is targeted at social, ethnic and religious minorities, especially plain land Adibashi and Dalit communities in the Northwest part of the country. At the same time, we provide emergency relief and aid under the supervision of HEKS/EPER Humanitarian Aid Department.

Rohingya fled their homes in Myanmar August 2017, where huge refugee camps have formed. Since September 2017, HEKS/EPER has supported Humanitarian Aid interventions in Jamtoli refugee camp. HEKS/EPER is expanding these interventions and is searching for competent staff to implement activities.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:

Tasks

Project implementation

  • Facilitate situation analysis, baseline survey, other study and identify project beneficiaries.
  • Perform necessary tasks for distribution of shelter/NFI and site improvement materials to the targeted beneficiaries.
  • Ensure household owners, laborers are following project implementation guidelines to complete project activities within the agreed timeframe and to the highest standards.
  • Identify suitable spot for hardware interventions.
  • Implement project activities at field level and report daily activities and achievements to the line manager.
  • Support and supervise the activities of volunteers.

Information management and reporting

  • Assess needs of shelter/NFI and site improvement activities at Camp level.
  • Lead data collection and record keeping measuring the progress of planned activities.

Coordination, networking and advocacy

  • Coordinate with the local community leaders, Majhi and identify the location for implementation project activities.

Capacity Strengthening

  • Conduct training/Orientation session to the beneficiaries on different topics of shelter/NFI and site improvement.
  • Participate in different trainings nominated by the line manager.

Financial Management and logistics

  • Monitor the proper use of materials, financial and human resources at field level.
  • Organize proper storage for the NFIs at field level.

Safety and Security

  • Provide timely incident report to the line manager as needed.
  • Ensure safety and security of the project materials at field level.

REQUIRED PROFILE AND EXPERIENCE:

Education and professional experience
  • Bachelor’s degree with 2 years or HSC/equivalent with at least 3 years’ experience.
  • Priority will be given to the candidates who have experience in Rohingya response.
  • Working experience with NGOs.

Professional requirements

  • Keep strong coordination with other implementing agencies at field level.
  • Skills on community mobilization.
  • Skills on training/session facilitations.

Language

  • Local and Rohingya language is an asset.

Personal requirements

  • Must be a permanent resident of Ukhia or Teknaf Upazila, Cox’s Bazar.
