
Position Title: Intern – Access to Finance

Background
Heifer International Bangladesh is working in the country under the registration of NGO Affairs since 2012. Currently it is working with 52800 women farmers through 43 cooperatives. Whereas the objective of Heifer International is to achieve sustainable living income of the farming families through different types of capacity building and other interventions. Among the activities access to finance at a low cost from different formal financial institutions is one of the most important. The direct number of participants in access to finance is now more than 800 and number of banks is also increasing. There is also another upcoming partnership with iFarmer where Heifer Impact Capital would be an investor and board member too.
The appointed person will support the access to finance interventions under the leadership of Business Development and Access to Finance Lead. S/he will verify the nominations for bank loans following the guideline, prepare and maintain the database, follow up repayment and regular communication with the implementing partners and cooperatives.
Duties and Deliverables
- Verify the nominations for bank loans following the access to finance and respective banks’ guideline.

Enrich database of the loan receivers having from respective banks
- Follow up on time repayment of the loan receivers.
- Field visit to check the investment of bank loans and business viability of the applicants and loan receivers.
- Regular communication with coop managers, technical officers of implementing partners and other relevant persons in favor of the access to finance interventions and enterprise development
- Email corresponding at field regarding monthly repayment schedule and overdue
- Provide other necessary support required for the organization and the thematic area.
Educational Requirements
- The suitable candidate should be fresh graduate from business studies either B.Com (Hons), or BBA.
Additional Requirements
- Age up to 27 years
- Ability to work independently and in teams.
- Ability to organize and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and online research.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality. Strong interpersonal skills including written communication and verbal communication skills.
