Request for Proposal | Habitat for Humanity Bangladesh – Team & Culture Building
1.Background:
Since 1999, Habitat for Humanity Bangladesh has been working with low-income families to build strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter. Its programs include access to decent and affordable housing, clean water, energy, sanitation, and safe public spaces, as well as training in appropriate construction technologies and disaster response and mitigation.
As the organization continues to evolve in response to strategic priorities and operational growth, strengthening team cohesion, collaboration, and organizational culture has become increasingly important.
HFH Bangladesh therefore seeks to engage a qualified consultant to design and facilitate a structured team and culture-building initiative aimed at enhancing collaboration, trust, communication, and alignment with organizational values and strategy.
2. Purpose of the Assignment:
The purpose of this consultancy is to:
- Strengthen teamwork and cross-functional collaboration.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performance organizational culture.
- Improve communication, trust, and accountability among staff.
- Align staff behaviors with organizational values and mission.
- Identify practical actions to sustain a healthy work culture.
3. Scope of Work:
The consultant will:
a) Assessment Phase
- Conduct a rapid organizational culture assessment through interviews, or focus groups.
- Identify key challenges related to teamwork, communication, leadership, and morale.
b) Design Phase
- Develop a customized team and culture-building framework tailored to HFH Bangladesh.
- Prepare interactive workshop modules, exercises, and tools.
- Share a detailed facilitation plan and session agenda.
c) Facilitation Phase
- Facilitate a day of interactive team building and culture workshops (in-person preferred).
- Use participatory and experiential learning methods.
- Include sessions on:
- Trust-building
- Effective communication
- Conflict resolution
- Cross-functional collaboration
- Organizational values alignment
- Accountability and ownership
d) Action Planning
- Guide participants in developing a practical culture improvement action plan.
- Propose short-, medium-, and long-term interventions.
- Suggest measurable indicators for tracking progress.
e) Reporting
- Submit a final report including:
- Key findings from assessment
- Workshop summary
- Agreed action plan
- Recommendations for leadership
4. Deliverables:
The consultant will deliver:
- Inception note with methodology and timeline.
- Culture assessment summary.
- Workshop design and facilitation materials.
- Facilitated team and culture workshop(s).
- Final report with actionable recommendations.
5. Duration and Location of Assignment:
- Overall assignment duration: Approximately 4–6 weeks (including assessment, design, facilitation, and reporting).
- Workshop duration: 1 full day.
- Proposed dates: Either 7 or 9 April 2026 (to be finalized in consultation with HFH Bangladesh).
- Location: A venue near Dhaka, Bangladesh (exact location to be confirmed).
6. Required Qualifications and Experience
The consultant (individual or firm) should have:
- Minimum 7–10 years of experience in organizational development, team facilitation, or culture transformation.
- Proven experience working with NGOs/INGOs (experience with Habitat or similar organizations preferred).
- Strong facilitation and participatory training skills.
- Experience in conducting organizational culture assessments.
- Excellent report writing and communication skills.
- Contextual understanding of Bangladesh is preferred.
7. Reporting and Coordination:
The consultant will report directly to the National Director (or designated senior management representative) of HFH Bangladesh.
8. Budget and Payment Terms:
- The consultant should submit a financial proposal including professional fees and any related costs.
- Payment will be made in installments:
- 30% upon signing the contract and approval of inception note
- 40% after workshop completion
- 30% upon submission and approval of final report
9. Proposal Submission Requirements
Interested consultants should submit:
- Technical proposal (methodology, approach, timeline)
- Financial proposal
- CV(s) of consultant(s)
- At least two references from similar assignments
- Sample of relevant previous work (if available)
- Any other relevant documents
10. Evaluation Criteria:
Proposals will be evaluated based on:
- Understanding of the assignment
- Proposed methodology and approach
- Relevant experience
- Facilitation expertise
- Cost-effectiveness
