Purpose:

The Officer - Fundraising and Partnerships plays a critical role in supporting Habitat for Humanity International Bangladesh’s (HFHI-B) mission by driving partnerships, resource mobilization, and donor engagement efforts. The position supports the Associate Director of Resource Development & Strategic Partnerships in achieving annual fundraising targets across FOI, corporate, tithe, and government funding streams.

The Officer- Fundraising and Partnerships will work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to produce high-quality concept notes, proposals, and donor communication materials. Key responsibilities include collecting and synthesizing data for proposals, identifying and assessing potential funding opportunities, cultivating donor relationships, and strengthening HFHI-B’s visibility and positioning as a leading housing organization in Bangladesh.

Main responsibilities:

  • Donor Mapping & Fundraising Strategy
    • Maintain an updated database of FOI, corporate, and other donors, and regularly map new funding opportunities.
    • Implement pre-positioning plans aligned with HFHI-B’s Strategic Business Plan, Resource Development Strategy, and related planning documents.
    • Identify and track emerging funding opportunities and contribute to monthly fundraising forecasts.
  • Proposal & Concept Note Development
    • Support the development of high-quality, competitive proposals and concept notes that align with donor priorities and strategic objectives.
    • Collect, compile, and organize evidence, program data, and contextual information for proposals and grant applications.
    • Collaborate closely with program, MEAL, and finance teams to ensure technical and financial accuracy.
  • Donor Engagement & Stewardship
    • Prepare briefing notes, background documents, and informational materials for senior leadership.
    • Organize and support donor engagement events and national-level awareness initiatives.
    • Strengthen HFHI-B’s visibility, reputation, and relationships with FOI, corporate, and other donors.
  • Marketing & Communications
    • Collaborate with HFHI-B’s Communications personnel on local fundraising and visibility campaigns.
    • Plan, implement, and monitor digital marketing initiatives (website, email, SEO, and related platforms).
    • Analyze campaign performance and apply insights to optimize future marketing efforts.
  • Research & Knowledge Management
    • Coordinate research studies to assess the broader impact of HFHI-B’s housing and community development programs.
    • Develop white papers and knowledge products to support advocacy, influence-building, and donor engagement.
  • Grant Management & Compliance
    • Monitor donor reporting deadlines and ensure timely submission of compliant reports.
    • Work with finance, legal, and compliance teams to process grant agreements, acknowledgements, and payments in line with donor requirements.
  • Event Management
    • Organize and support high-profile national events to showcase HFHI-B’s work beyond housing.
    • Engage donors, partners, government stakeholders, and other key audiences effectively during events.

Requirements:

1. Education

  • Master’s degree in social science, political science or international relations, media and communication, marketing, development studies, resource mobilization and international development, or similar subjects..

2. Experience

  • 4–5 years of relevant experience in fundraising, proposal development, partnerships, or donor coordination.
  • Experience with NGOs, INGO settings, or donor-funded development programs preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in writing proposals and concept notes.
  • Experience engaging corporate donors or digital fundraising is an asset.

3. Competency  

  • Expertise in Internet research, specifically gathering and analyzing foundation and institutional funding programs, areas of concentration and grant guidelines/requirements, grant writing and budget development. 
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills with excellent interpersonal, presentation and negotiation skills. 
  • Solutions-oriented and collaborative in an evolving, dynamic, inter-cultural team. 
  • Reflects the organizational principles through on-time delivery of work products in changing work terrains as the organization rapidly evolves. 
  • Disciplined; performs well under pressure and capable of balancing competing priorities; ability to meet deadlines. 
  • Excellent organizational skills with good attention to detail. 
  • Commitment to delivering excellent internal and external customer service. 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office 365, especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams for information sharing and knowledge management, and project management software. 
  • Demonstrates understanding of the impact of own role on all partners and always puts the end beneficiary first. 
  • Upholds organizational and ethical norms. Maintains high standards of trustworthiness. Role model for diversity and inclusion.

Salary:

Negotiable based on competency of the selected candidate with all other regular benefits as per organizational policy.
