Training and Capacity Building Officer

Purpose:

The Training and Capacity Building Officer will be responsible for strengthening the capacity of partner organizations, Community Based Organizations (CWC, SHG, WUC), local level stakeholders and community members. This includes conducting Training Needs Assessments (TNA), developing training modules and materials, delivering training sessions, and providing on-the-job support to ensure effective knowledge transfer. The position requires strong facilitation skills, experience in adult learning methodologies, and the ability to design innovative capacity-building approaches tailored to community needs.

Main responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive TNA for partner organizations, Community Based Organizations (CWC, SHG, WUC), and community.
  • Identify gaps in knowledge, skills, and practices to design targeted capacity-building interventions.
  • Prepare TNA reports and share findings with project management for planning.
  • Develop training modules, manuals, and resource materials based on TNA findings and tailored project objectives and community context.
  • Design training plans and schedules aligned with project timelines and objectives.
  • Organize and conduct training sessions for partners, CBOs, and community members on governance, planning, leadership, financial management, and thematic project issues (e.g., housing, WASH, climate resilience, disaster preparedness).
  • Adapt training methods for different literacy levels and cultural contexts.
  • Provide follow-up support, hands-on coaching and mentoring to partner staff and CBOs to reinforce learning and ensure sustainability.
  • Organize awareness sessions and skill-building workshops on project-related themes.
  • Strengthen community structures for collective action and resilience.
  • Develop tools for pre- and post-training assessments to measure training success.
  • Collect and analyze training data to inform project reporting and continuous improvement.
  • Document success stories, lessons learned, and best practices for internal and external sharing.
  • Work closely with project team and partner to align training activities with project plans.
  • Coordinate logistics for training events, including venue, materials, and participant mobilization.
  • Ensure all capacity-building activities adhere to HFHI’s safeguarding, DEI, and ethical standards.
  • Maintain systematic records of training plans, materials, and participant attendance.

Requirements:

1. Education

  • Graduation in Development Studies, Social Sciences, Education, or a related field from a recognized university (Post Graduation preferred).

2. Experience

  • 3 - 5 years of experience in training and capacity building within development projects.
  • Proven experience in developing training modules and IEC materials.
  • Skilled in facilitation and participatory approaches.
  • Experience in community development and working with CBOs.

3. Competency

  • Ability to conduct TNA and evaluate training effectiveness.
  • Expertise in developing modules and delivering participatory sessions.
  • Strong understanding of organizational development and community empowerment.
  • Ability to adapt approaches for diverse audiences.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication in Bangla and English.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to build trust and work collaboratively with partners and communities.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office, presentation tools, and basic design software.

Salary:

(Negotiable based on competency of the selected candidate with all other regular benefits as per organizational policy)
