Background
Habitat for Humanity International Bangladesh (HFHIB) is a non-governmental organization dedicated to building strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter. HFHIB believe that a decent home provides a foundation for a better life, enabling families to improve their health, education, and economic opportunities. To further HFHIB’s mission and expand the reach, HFHIB aim to produce an engaging and impactful animated fundraising video. This video will serve as a crucial tool to communicate HFHIB’s work, demonstrate the tangible impact of donations, and inspire increased contributions from individual, corporate and institutional donors. The video will specifically highlight the journey of a donation from collection to its utilization in housing, basic services (i.e. WASH) initiatives, and other community development activities, showcasing the transformative effects on the lives of the targeted population.
1. Objectives of the Video
The primary objectives of this animated fundraising video are to:
- Increase Donor Engagement: Create an emotionally resonant and visually appealing narrative that captures the attention and empathy of potential donors.
- Enhance Transparency and Accountability: Clearly illustrate how donations are collected, allocated, and utilized across various program areas, including housing construction, WASH facilities, and other community development initiatives.
- Showcase Impact: Visually demonstrate the positive, multi-dimensional impacts of Habitat Bangladesh's work on the lives of beneficiaries, such as improved health outcomes, increased educational attainment, and enhanced economic stability.
- Inspire Further Contributions: Motivate existing and new donors to contribute more significantly to HFHIB’s mission by highlighting the direct link between their support and tangible community transformation.
2. Scope of Work
The selected video production team will be responsible for the entire production process of a 5-minute animated fundraising video, from concept development to final delivery. The scope of work includes, but is not limited to, the following key tasks and deliverables:
2.1. Concept Development and Scriptwriting
- Key Task: Develop a compelling narrative and script that effectively communicates HFHIB’s mission, the donation lifecycle, and the impact on beneficiaries. This will involve close collaboration with the HFHIB team to ensure accuracy and alignment with organizational messaging.
- Deliverables:
- Detailed concept note outlining the video's theme, style, and target audience.
- First draft of the video script (5 minutes duration).
- Revised script incorporating feedback from HFHIB.

2.2. Storyboarding and Visual Design
- Key Task: Translate the approved script into a visual storyboard, detailing scene-by-scene animation, character designs (if applicable), and overall visual style. The animation should clearly depict the flow of donations and their impact. For example, the journey of a donation could be visualized as a flowing stream, starting from a donor's hand and branching out into different impactful areas.
- Deliverables:
- Detailed storyboard with visual representations of each scene.
- Character and environment design concepts.
- Style guide for animation (e.g., color palette, typography).
2.3. Animation Production
- Key Task: Produce high-quality 2D or 3D animation (as agreed upon in the concept phase) based on the approved storyboard and visual design. This includes animating the donation collection, its flow through Habitat Bangladesh's operations, and its transformation into housing, WASH facilities, and other community benefits. The animation should visually represent the impact on the targeted population's lives, for example, showing a family moving into a new, safe home, children accessing clean water, or improved sanitation facilities and others.
- Deliverables:
- First animation draft (animatic or rough animation).
- Revised animation incorporating feedback.
- Final animated video.
2.4. Voiceover and Sound Design
- Key Task: Record a professional voiceover in English that complements the animation and conveys the message clearly and emotionally. Develop a suitable sound design, including background music and sound effects, to enhance the video's impact.
- Deliverables:
- Voiceover talent options and samples.
- Recorded and edited voiceover.
- Selection of appropriate background music.
- Final sound design and mixing.
2.5. Post-Production and Final Delivery
- Key Task: Conduct all necessary post-production work, including editing, color grading, motion graphics, and integration of voiceover and sound design. Deliver the final video in multiple formats optimized for various platforms.
- Deliverables:
- First edited video draft.
- Revised edited video incorporating feedback.
- Final video in high-resolution (e.g., 1080p, 4K) MP4 format.
- Optimized versions for social media (e.g., shorter cuts, different aspect ratios for Instagram/Facebook stories).
- Clean version (without text overlays, if applicable).
3. Technical Specifications
The final video should adhere to the following technical specifications:
- Duration: 5 minutes.
- Resolution: Minimum 1920x1080 (Full HD), preferably 4K (3840x2160) for future proofing.
- Aspect Ratio: 16:9.
- File Format: MP4 (H.264 codec) for general use; other formats as required for specific platforms.
- Audio: Stereo, 48 kHz, 16-bit.
- Language: English voiceover and on-screen text.
4. Timeline
The task is expected to be completed within two (2) months from the date of contract signing.
5. Reporting and Communication
The selected video production team will report directly to the Communications Officer at Habitat for Humanity International Bangladesh (HFHIB). Regular communication, including weekly progress updates and scheduled review meetings (virtual or in-person), will be essential to ensure the project stays on track and meets expectations. All drafts and final deliverables need to be submitted electronically for review and approval.
6. Selection Criteria
Proposals will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
- Technical Expertise and Experience: Demonstrated experience in producing high-quality animated videos, particularly for non-profit organizations or development-related themes.
- Creative Approach: Originality and effectiveness of the proposed concept, narrative, and visual style in meeting the video's objectives.
- Portfolio: Submission of a strong portfolio showcasing relevant previous work.
- Team Capacity: Availability of a qualified and experienced team (animators, scriptwriters, voiceover artists, sound designers, editors).
- Budget and Value for Money: Competitiveness of the proposed budget relative to the quality of deliverables and scope of work.
- Adherence to Timeline: Demonstrated ability to meet the proposed two-month timeline.
7. Submission Requirements
Interested video production teams are invited to submit a comprehensive proposal that includes:
- A cover letter expressing interest and understanding of the ToR.
- A detailed technical proposal outlining the proposed approach, methodology, and creative concept for the video.
- A detailed financial proposal with a breakdown of costs for each task/deliverable.
- A proposed work plan and timeline.
- A portfolio of relevant previous work (links to online videos preferred).
- Resumes/CVs of key personnel involved in the project.
- At least three (3) professional references.
- TIN Certificate (with latest return).
- VAT Registration Certificate.
- BIN Certificate.
- Trade License/Registration
8. Budget
The budget for this project should cover all aspects of the video production, including concept development, scriptwriting, storyboarding, visual design, animation, voiceover, sound design, music licensing, editing, and final delivery. The financial proposal should include a detailed breakdown of costs for each phase of the project.
All submissions should be sent electronically to hr@habitatbangladesh.org by 16th August 2025.
Transparency and Code of conduct: You will be governed by the code of conduct and expectations of HFH Bangladesh, while representing the organization in coordination.
Safeguarding: The consultant and the field staff engaged in the project must adhere to the safeguarding code of conduct in both their professional and personal lives, which includes doing "NO HARM" to vulnerable children and adults, whether directly or indirectly, intentionally or unintentionally, knowingly or unknowingly. Each employee must take proactive steps to prevent, respond to, and report safeguarding- related risks and concerns by extending support and encouraging a "Speak Up" culture using the established reporting system. Any breaches would invite immediate disciplinary action, including the termination of the contract.
The following steps are part of safe-guarding related screening:
- Undergo orientation to have a comprehensive understanding of Habitat Bangladesh (including its values), its safeguarding obligations and the personal responsibility to maintain the same, the available reporting system and the consequences of non-adherence to the safeguarding code of conduct.
- Submission of the signed code of conduct and acknowledgement of Safeguarding.
- A self-declaration stating that they have no involvement, past or present, in any case of any form of abuse against any child or adult.
Pre-Closure or Termination:
The consultancy can be pre-closed or terminated mutually by providing written notice of 15 days by either party, without assigning any reasons in writing for such Pre-closure or termination. On Pre-closure or termination of the agreement all the materials, documents in your possession will be returned to Habitat for Humanity Bangladesh. Subsequent to termination, you shall refrain from holding yourself out as a representative of HFHB, in any manner whatsoever.
